Chapter 9

Last night was a total blur. The weekend went by so fast, it's already sunday afternoon.

Dads on another business trip and he said he'd be back in two-three weeks, Melissa still hasn't told mom or dad about her major switch and shes leaving back to college in three days and mom, Well, shes always busy with a case that we rarely see eachother. So that leaves me again, all alone. It's been like that for a while so I don't mind.

Sundays are always so boring and I usually don't do anything so I decided to catch up on my school, seeing as how I've been ditching for a week which now that I come to think of it was really stupid. I finished all the work and assignments that Sam got me and I turned on the t.v and watched some re-runs til I eventually got bored.

I decided to log on my accounts, twitter and facebook. I scrolled down my twitter feed until I got bored. I checked my facebook and saw a status from Jenny Saife. Can't wait for homecoming. I want my date to give me the crazy ask.

Ugh !!! Another thing I hated, its so boring and I can't dance to save my life. All the more reason to hate it. Homecoming is by the end of this month but if I wanna bring Adam down I guess I have to use it to my advantage.

I woke up the next morning. Did my morning routine. I curled my hair, put on some light make-up and put on a tight peachy coloured t-shirt with a pair of not-so-short shorts and some regular kicks. I went down to find Melissa and mom at the table.

"Good morning" honestly it's not and I hate mornings but whatever right?

"Good morning Jess, eat quickly and don't be late hun" my mom said

"Hey Jess, since your all for a new change I was wondering if you want my old cheer spot. Ashley is Stephanies little sister and I can probably get you a spot" Cheering is NOT my thing but if it's gonna get me in Adams A-crowd i'm all up for it.

"Yeah Jess, that would be a great idea. You were great in gymnastics. This is a nice opportunity and it would look good on a college application"

"Alright, I'll give it a shot!" I dropped out of gymnastics when I was in 8th grade cause our high school didn't have a gymnastics team.

"Good then because I already talked to Stephanie" she said while looking at straight at the wall. I think she was expecting to through a fit as to why she talked to Stephanie before asking me.

"Great then, I'll see Ashley today and try out. I have to go now before I'm late"

"Okay well see you after school" she said

I drove to school and got there just on time with a few minutes to spare. The hallway was now clear, only a few people were still walking around. By now I was running, I was in such a hurry that I bumped into something hard. I almost fell but I was surprised to be held up by someone keeping me steady.

"Hey, are you okay?" I looked up and it was non other than Jake Wilson

"Yeah. I'm fine, Thanks" I brushed myself off while Jake handed me the book that fell on the ground.

"I didn't catch you're name" I'm already running late, I did not want to start a conversation with him.

"I'm sorry, I'm running late. I gotta go, catch you later." I spun around quickly and headed off towards history class.

I entered class and everyone was seated. I was the only one to come late, like 10 minutes late,Wow. I didn't even realise I took that long.

"Miss Riley, I do not tolerate tardiness. Please have a seat but next time it will be detention." I apologised and took my seat.
