Chapter 10

"Hey Jess, aren't you gonna invite me in?"

"Sure" We walked into the second living room. It's a bit smaller than the first one. My mom left us to talk and went upstairs.

"So what's up?" It was out of the blue for Luke to come visit so this had to be something important.

"Uh, well I was actually just at Sams so I thought I'd just drop by, see whats up." His eyes were so freakin' blue, it was hard to concentrate on what he was saying. A couple months ago I had a little crush on Luke but that only lasted a month, Sam is still convinced I like him. She's so damn stubborn.

"Oh well nothing really, same old"

"Sam said you were trying out for cheerleading" damn ! She told him. Ofcourse she would, she tells him everything, seeing as how shes an only child Luke is basically her older brother rather than her cousin.

"Yeah, just wanted to try something new?"

"Thats not like you Jess, you're not like you used to be"

"Yeah well I like the new me, no one liked the old Jess and neither do I" I snapped a bit too harshly.

"Well, I did" he said quietly, as if he felt sorry for me. He got up and walked to the front door.

"Luke wait..." well that conversation didn't last long

"I'll see you around Jess" he closed the door behind him and left. Talk about dramatic sheesh! Luke should be the last of my concerns now. I have to think about school, the cheerleading crap and Adam.

I was heading on my to school, I decided to call Sam to tell her that I would drive her to school today and she agreed. We just parked and were heading on our way to class. I stopped by locker to take my books and Sam went to class already leaving me alone. I closed my locker to find Adam leaning on the locker beside me.

"Good morning to you too Walker"

"You're sarcasm doesn't bruise me Jess" sure ...

"Okay I seriously need to get to class so spill it !!"

"I heard you joined that cheerleading team, that's hot" wow that actually worked?

"Yeah well I gotta get to class so i'll catch up with you later" I was trying to take it down a notch with the crude attitude so he doesn't drift away and I think i'm pretty good at it.

"Alright Jess" he said and walked away

The first periods of class always take out alot of energy from me. Thank god it was now lunch time, my stomach wouldn't shut up. I got my lunch and sat at my usual table when I saw Ashley walk towards me.

"Hey Jess, why are sitting alone?"

"I'm acually waiting for my friends"

"Don't be silly, you can sit with me while you wait for them. Besides, you're part of our cheer squad now so I think you should sit with is everyday" the idea of not sitting with Sam and Ash at lunch like everyday for the past three years makes me feel like i'm betraying them. But it'll all be over soom anyway.

I got up and walked towards their table and sat with the other girls I was a little too quite and Ashley would start small talk but I would just give her basic answer. She kind of sensed it and gave me some space. I feel bad for not giving an effort. A couple of minutes later I saw Adam, Jake and Liam walking towards our table.

Adams POV

"Dude can you be any slower" Jake said

"Alright hold on" I was to busy scrolling through my twitter timeline, standing in the middle of the hall.

"So, you going to homecoming?" Jake asked. He probably has a date otherwise he wouldn't have asked.

"Nah man, I didn't ask anyone yet but I'll let you know when I do" maybe I should ask Jess, thats if she doesn't make a rude comment and dismiss me

"Uh well I was thinking of asking Jess out, you know her right? Shes the new cheerleader on the team" I was shocked right there

Jess? Of all the girls he had in school he chose Jess. I mean I wasn't with her and it didn't occur to me to ask her til now but hearing the Jake was going to ask her out was all the more appealing and noe I really wanna go with her.

"So what do you think?" What do I think ?!

"Uh I don't man, she probably already has a date. Plus she's pretty close with that Johnson guy" what am I even doing...

"You mean Asher Johnson? nah I think they're just close friends" shit! what now?

"Yeah" I said, not knowing what else to say.

We entered the cafeteria and my eyes instantly caught with Jess. I gave her one of my famous smirks.

"Hey Jess" Jake started a conversation with her.

Shit! He's probably gonna ask her out. I need to do something to stop this from happening. But what?

Okay so i kinda lost interest and inspiration for a few months but i think ill continue now.
