/Evelyn's Pov/

I was sitting with Ellie in my room, pretending to do homework, but ended up talking to her. "I heard about what happened in the woods the other night. I'm sorry I wasn't there." El said, putting logs in the fireplace and attempting to light it. I stood up from my bed before striking the match for her and tossing it in the fire. "Thanks." she said, turning to me. "Who told you that?" I asked, hoping the whole school didn't know. "Issac mentioned it, he banged up his wrist a bit. Jax is quite the fighter." she said, picking up the blanket from the floor and walking back over to the bed. "He fought him?" I asked, surprised that the one person who hasn't paid me the slightest bit of attention would save me. "Well yeah." she said, as if it was an obvious fact. "How did you and Issac already become friends?" I asked, curious how after a week, she was friends with the guy that wouldn't even look at me, but also defend me. "We have alot of classes together." she said. "I'm tired, see you in the morning for breakfast? I'm assuming you don't want to sit with Jax." she said and I nodded. "Goodnight." I said, as she walked out the door. "Night." she said, closing the door. I walked over to the fireplace and pulled my legs to my chest and stared into the flames.

"Darling, where are you?" Issac asked, coming into the parlor. "Why are you sitting by the fire? Are you cold? Would you like me to put some tea on? Grab another blanket?" he asked, rushing to my side. I felt my shoulders droop as his arms wrapped around me. "No love, I'm perfect now." I said, closing my eyes and breathing in his warm scent. "I love you." he whispered and then stood up immediately, making me lose my balance. "What's wrong?" I barely asked, before I felt my heart start to slow down.

I opened my eyes to see that the fire had all but gone out. I felt like I had dreamt that but it also felt incredibly real, like what had happened during the Great Depression movie the other day. I tried to remember every detail of the "dream", like how I had talked differently, almost as if I had an English accent and how Issac was dressed in old clothes from the 1800's. There was something about Issac and I wanted to figure it out. I poured water on the remainder of the fire and slipped into my slippers. I had no idea where I was going, but I couldn't possibly just lay in bed after that vision or dream or whatever has been happening to me since I came here. I walked down the stairs and saw a door at the end of the hallway leading outside. As much as I would love to walk in the woods, it was past midnight and I knew that was against the rules. I walked towards the library and walked in to see a table dimly lit in the back. I walked towards it to see Issac, reading what looked like a book on religion. He seemed to sense me and looked up. "Hey." I said, and for some reason he didn't run away like he had so many times before. "Hi, what are you up to?" he asked, and folded the book in his lap. I sat down in the chair next to his and I felt a wave of deja vu hit me like we had spent many nights like this one. "Nothing, I just couldn't sleep." I said, folding my legs into the chair. "Thanks for saving me the other night." I said. "Always." he said, holding my gaze for a moment and then blinking and playing with his book. "You should probably stay away from Jax and his group." he said, meeting my eyes again. "So I've heard, although you haven't exactly been the nicest to me either." I said, testing the waters. This was the first time we have ever actually talked and I really liked it. "I thought it would be for the best, but I guess we were bound to meet up sometime." he said, smiling and taking his necklace between his fingers. He stood up and put out his hand for me to grab. "It's getting pretty late." I took his hand and let him pull me up, which he seemed to do effortlessly. I don't know what came over me but I held the charm of his necklace and examined it. It was a ring with a long name on it, which I'm assuming was his last name and next to it was a moon charm. I felt his breath on my forehead and it caused goosebumps to rise on my spine. "This is really pretty." I said, looking up at him. "What is it?" "It's um a family heirloom." he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Before I could question him, he seemed to realize how close we were and pulled away.

The walk up to my room was absolutely silent. Our hands brushed a few times, before he shoved his hands in his pockets. "See you tomorrow." Issac said, turning away as I opened up my door. "Good night." I mumbled and walked in and shut the door quietly. "Well well well." I heard and my heart jumped out of my chest. "El you scared me, what are you doing?" I asked, turning around and feeling my heartbeat go back to normal. "I came back to grab my textbooks, but I could be asking you the same question, sneaking off in the middle of the night." she said, crossing her arms and trying not to smile. "I just went for a walk." I said, trying to push past her and lay in my bed, but she wouldn't let me. "Who were you with? Please tell me it wasn't Lailah." she said, huffing. "No, I was with Issac." I said, and she let me scoot past her. "Really? That was fast." she said. "What was fast?" I asked, as she walked back to the door. "Nothing." she said and closed the door. Great, yet another mystery surrounding Issac. I hoped tomorrow he would be nice again, but I had my doubts. He was always so cuddly at night, so it was proba- I stopped myself from finishing that thought. These visions are really getting to my head, they're making me think that I knew him.
