We walked out of the forest to a place with monorails constantly swishing around us. "Who knew these things existed anymore?" I asked as we boarded one.
Lorcan shrugged. "They seemed to be pretty useful if the dictator still allows them."
"They've evolved." Kaliver said simply as he climbed onto one. "Well, are you coming?" I climbed on after, grabbing onto Kalivers hand, the monorails have gotten taller than they were in America, and it was hard to climb such a steep...monorail.
I grabbed Lorcans wrist as the monorail started to start, and luckily he made it. I'd never been on a monorail, so I grasped a bar that was protruding from the ceiling and Lorcans hand, as we descended into a tunnel.
As the monorail sped up to incredible speeds, I looked out the window to see a metal tunnel. "Welcome ladies and gentlemen." The voice that spoke to us over the intercom was most obviously a robot, they had such technology here, perhaps behind next the the Lab gave them that. "We thank you for choosing to travel with us, our destination is ahead, in thirty minutes, the heart of Laz Vegaz." It said. "While you are there, you will experience something new, there are a lot of casinos and hotels and drinking bars, we are sure you will have the time of your life. Now for some brief history."
Lorcan groaned. "I didn't come here to go to school!" Lorcan yelled at the roof.
"Idiot." Kaliver mumbled.
"Back in American day, our beloved city was called Las Vegas. It was still the home of casinos and amazing flickering lights..." Kaliver looked down as the monorail robot continued to speak. "But the world of America has since evolved into Zemira and now, thanks to our neighbor, the Lab, we have some of the most advanced technology." I sighed. The stale monotone voice of the monorail robot felt stained into my head, almost like I have heard it for so long my head would break open. It's like the voice was a poisonous ink that had set into my skin, I groaned quietly. "Dictator Cha believed of course that the place he lives in, what was once New York, now just a populated area, should have the most advanced technology imported to him. We of course made the arrangement with scientists and TESTERS about this and they are able to send us everything Dictator Cha already has."
"Who knew how boring history could me." I heard Lorcan mumble. I agreed silently.
"Laz Vegaz stretches all the way over to the coast, which was once California..." The robot voice continued. Right now I was about ready to pass out on boredom but these monorails didn't have any seats.
We jerked to the left and I felt my hand coming off the handle bar. Falling to the ground I landed on my butt on top of Lorcan. He smiled wickedly at me, and for once I was scared of him.
"Get off me," He pushed me, still smiling. I got up and held a firmer grip on the handle.
After what felt like there was no end to this trek and this annoying monorail robot, he stopped. "And now we will be arriving arriving in Laz Vegaz." It said after.
In a flash we were out of the tunnel and everyone's heads swiveled around themselves to see all the lights. I looked out the window myself to see colors swarm across my eyes, red yellow and blue were the only colors I could see across my eyes because of how fast we were going. Electric lights flickered through my mind as we slowed down.
There were huge signs that reached the starry sky, the stars didn't seem an eighth as bright as the lights though. I saw Kaliver looking down at the silver ground of the monorail, "Hold on." he said simply.
At first I had no idea why he had said that, but I listened, Lorcan...did not. "Uhm, well, no, you-" He started, but was interrupted by a sudden stop.
