*THE NEXT DAY*
The next day, I woke up. Which is shocking because I haven't slept in two or three days. To be honest, I really didn't feel like getting dressed and going to school. And i didn't want to face another day knowing that Michael is in the hospital......
But my mom was going to come and my room and force me to go.
So I just dragged myself out of the bed and threw on some clothes. Because I didn't care what I looked like. I went downstairs and my mom and john was waking for me at the door like always. By they're gloomy faces, it looked like neither of them got any rest.
"Merida would you like me to drive you to school ?" My mom said, yawning.
"No thanks mom, I'm just going to walk to school" I said hugging my mom.
I do feel kind of bad for my mom. How was she suppose to know that a situation like this would show up ? So technically, it's not all her fault.
"Okay sweetie, but I want you to be careful." she said, looking into my eyes, and then kissing my forehead.
I watched mom drive off in the van, and then I started walking to school in silence.
*AT SCHOOL*
School without Michael was so boring and more draggish than usual. I ate at lunch all by myself. I don't even think I pasted my pop quiz in math. Usually Michael helps me past those test.
But it's okay. I'm just glad that Michael at least have some time to build his strength up.
As I was sitting at the lunch table, I just starred out the window...
I mean, What else was I suppose to do ?
Looking out the window was getting boring.....so I just daydreamed while starring at the table.
Then an unfamiliar voice spoke to me.
"Hi there."
It was a girl, with long dark brown hair and icy blue eyes. She sat across from me at the lunch table. I didn't know who she was so I just starred at her.
"Sorry. I didn't introduce myself. I'm Sarah. Michael's sister." She said holding out her hand for me to shake it.
Michael had a sister ? Hmm.....he never told me. I wonder why.
"Oh, um hi. I'm Merida." I said, shaking her hand.
"Michael never told me he had a sister" I continued.
"Yeah, he wanted to tell u, but before he could, the incident had happened." Sarah said looking down.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for him to get hurt......I'm...I'm so sorry. It's my fault...." I said feeling tears coming on.
"It's not your fault." Sarah said touching my hand.
"Wait......do u know what even happened to Michael ?" I said.
"Well yeah. He fell down the stairs." She replied.
Sarah had all her information wrong. Michael didn't fall down any stairs. He was attacked my that vicious dog in the backyard of the haunted house. So I decided to tell Sarah what happened.
"Sarah, Michael didn't fall down any stairs. He was attacked by a vicious dog...."
Sarah looked up at me and starred in my eyes. So I continued.
"Sarah, this isn't easy to tell you, but here is something evil in our neighborhood. And I know, your probably think I'm crazy but trust me Sarah in not. Me and Michael heard noises coming from the house.....it sounded like crying souls or something. I was curious so I was going to see where the sound was coming from. Michael didn't want to come. But he didn't was me to be there alone cause he was afraid something horrible was going to happen to me. So he came with me. We both saw a dead body. It was blood everywhere and then out of no where, a vicious, yet, horrible looking dog came out of no where and it attacked us. Michael was injured badly by the attack but I killed the dog and I got to Michael as soon as possible and I drove him to the nearest hospital."
After explaining what really happened to Michael, Sarah looked at me in awe. And then she spoke.
"Merida. It's not your fault. U didn't mean to let that happen. But I don't think your crazy Merida. Because I've witnessed the same thing. Merida I hear the crying souls too." Sarah said.
I couldn't believe my ears. I thought only me and Michael knew about it. But now another person knows about it too ?
Sarah continued.
"Merida can we meet after school ? I have something shocking to tell you"
Sarah removed her self from my lunch table and walked out the lunch room.
All I could now was wonder what was it she was gonna tell me......and what is the shocking part ?
