I really like that picture ^~^

"Cut your hair."

I jump at the sound of the voice behind me. "What do you mean, cut my hair?"

Hyūga Junpei looks back at me. "I mean you need to cut your hair," he says. "It's too long and big."

"Excuse me?" I turn around entirely. "What's your problem with my hair?"

"It's not a problem for me. It's a problem for you."

What's up with him today?

After transferring to Seirin High, I decided it was time for a fresh start. I let down my hair, and I've never worn it up to school since. It attracted a few... let's say friends. Unexpected ones.

My friend Riko introduced me to the basketball team she coaches, and let me just say it's a fine bunch of individuals. It's hard not to get attached to them, and I've found myself on multiple occasions at their games, rooting for them like nobody's business. But outside of basketball time, I don't talk to many of them.

Excluding Hyūga.

He's constantly on my tail about something, whether it's simply the fact that Riko's not at school or that he's hungry and wants some of my food. It's not that I mind his company or anything, it's just that sometimes he needs to take a step back and chill. He's a persistent guy, which is evident because of the daily issue he brings to me.

Today it seems to be my hair.

"Why do you care about my hair so much?" I ask as we walk down the hall. "It's not like it's distracting you from your work, is it?"

He looks away. "It's not that I care about your hair, per se..."

"Oh, I get it," I scoff, ready to mock him. "It's just that your dad's a barber and he taught you to warn people when their split ends are too dangerous for their own good."

Hyūga glares at me. "It's not that either!"

"So your dad's not a barber?"

"No, he is, but-- Who told you that?"

"Riko did. I asked her where she got her hair done." I sigh. "Either way, I'm not cutting my hair, and I never will, so you might as well just lay off."

"Whatever," he mumbles, leaving me to grab his lunch.

"Yeah, and I was like, 'There's no way you can think my brother's biscuits are--'"

"Um, Shizu," my friend stops me, pointing behind me with a worried expression while turning away.

"What's behind me that's so-- OH MY-!"

"Cut your hair."

"BAKA!" I slap Hyūga's arm and he chuckles. "Why are you amused by this? You scared the crap out of me!"

"I thought you didn't startle easily," he says, sliding into the seat next to me.

"I don't. I just didn't expect some creep to be that close to my face when I turned around." I stuff something random into my mouth from my lunch. "I thought I told you to lay off."

He chuckles at me. "Like I'd listen to you."

I give him a side-glare. "You should. You have no clue what I'm capable of."

He gives me a kind of are-you-serious look and says, "Yeah, sure."

"Whatever. I'm not cutting my hair, end of the story."
