The only thing Matilda cares for more than her motorcycle is her mom. So, when her mother asks her to move her shit to this godforsaken town where she apparently grew up in, she just asks whether she can keep her bike. But that's weeks ago. Now it's the night just before the move and her mom's nervous ramblings are kind of stressing her out as well.

'This move will be good for us Matilda. I can feel it,' says her mom.

Honestly, Matilda is a bit relieved to be going somewhere where names like hers would be more commonplace. She thinks that it's one thing to give weird ass middle names and a whole another when it comes to first names. Who names their kid Matilda anyway?

She'd curse out her grandmother for having that name and even more so for dying in the same year that she was born if it wasn't for how sweet she apparently was. Whatever, she thinks.

She smiles, reassuring her mom, who sighs, not convinced herself. Mat doesn't know what more could possibly go wrong in their lives after this drastic change. They are moving to Nowhere after all. She just wishes she had a way to tell her mom that.
