"Are you sure you can't come with me? My parents miss you and are asking to see you." You said as you finished packing your bags. You were taking a trip back to your hometown to visit your parents for a couple weeks, but unfortunately, Grayson didn't have the time to go with you. "Babe, I'm sorry. I wish I could, I really do, but Ethan and I just have so much going on here, right now's not the best time for a trip." He sighed. "If you say so." You pouted. You set your bags by the door and you and Grayson settled into bed. The next morning, Grayson took you to the airport and helped you check your bags and get situated before you had to go through security. "I really wish you were coming with me." You sighed as Grayson wrapped you in his arms. "I wish I was too. But, tell your parents I said hello, and tell them that the next time you're in town, I'll be there with you." He said with a smile. "I will." You said, kissing him. "Well, I better get going. I don't wanna miss my flight." "Yeah, you should get going. Call me when you land." Grayson said, and you nodded. You said your goodbyes, gave him one last kiss and made your way through security and through the airport. You stopped at one of the restaurants and got a drink and something to eat before making your way to your gate. You sat there while you waited for boarding calls, and once you were on the plane and in the air, you fell asleep. Once you landed and collected your bags, you called Grayson and updated him on everything while you waited for your parents to pick you up. You sat on the phone with him until they got you. You loaded your bags in the car and drove back to their home while the three of you caught up. "We're disappointed Grayson couldn't come with you." Your mom sad as you unloaded your bags upon arrival to the house. "Yeah, he was disappointed too. He's super busy right now. But, he told me to tell you he said hello, and that he promises that he will be here the next time I take a trip up here." "We'll be glad to have him." You dad said as you walked into the house. Over the first week and a half that you were there, you had a great time with your parents. It felt good to spend time with them because it had been a while since you were home. You spent the time revisiting all the old places you used to hang out while you were growing up, running into and catching up with some childhood friends, and just enjoying being back home. "You know, if and when you and Grayson decide to ever settle down, and move out of the big city, there's a lot of houses for sale around town." Your mom said as you were driving back home from the store. "I would love to move back here. I'm not sure Grayson ever would though." You sighed. "He might. He is from a small town on New Jersey, and you always are talking about how he doesn't really enjoy the city as much as he thought he would." Your mom said. "Grayson and I should talk about an engagement before we talk about buying a house together." You laughed. "Yeah, I guess that would be best." Your mom laughed along with you. You drove around for a little while longer before heading back home. You helped her unload your purchases from the car and made your way back into the kitchen while you and her began cooking dinner. "Mmm, smells great." Your dad said as he walked in from outside. He stood in the kitchen with you two until the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." He said as he walked off. "Hey, (Y/N)! There's someone here who wants to see you!" He called. You walked out to the living room and towards the door, and a wide smile spread across your face as soon as you saw who it was. "Grayson! What are you doing here?" You asked as you fell into his arms. "I came to see you, of course." He said, tightening his grip on you. "I thought you said you were too busy to come?" You asked. "I did some rearranging and rescheduling on my end, your parents helped with a quick flight, and here I am." He said with a smile. "Now, if you don't mind, I wanna freshen up a bit. That was a long plane ride." Grayson laughed."Of course. Well, you know where everything is. We'll finish up dinner." You said as he made his way upstairs. You turned to your parents and gave them a huge smile. "Surprise." They said, hugging you. "I can't believe he's here. You two planned this?" You asked. "Yeah. We knew how much you missed him, and honestly, how much we missed him. We were kinda upset that Grayson wasn't gonna tag along with you, so we pulled some strings and brought him out here." Your dad explained."Well, I'm glad you two got something out of this too." You laughed. You and your mom finished cooking dinner just as Grayson came back down to join you. The four of you set the table and sat down for dinner, great conversation ensued and you all were just enjoying each other's company. After dinner, you helped clean the kitchen and settled down for the evening. You and Grayson went up to the guest room and began to get ready for bed. "I'm so tired." Grayson whined as he walked back into the room after taking a shower. He walked over to his bag and got dressed, then climbed into bed. "So my mom and I had an interesting conversation today." You said as he pulled you into his arms. "Oh yeah?"he asked "We drove in some of the neighborhoods around town, and she pointed out how many houses were for sale, and she suggested that you and I move here, y'know, once we're tired of living in the big city." You said. "That actually sounds kinds of nice. I'm sure my parents would like if we moved back home whenever we decide to settle down, but I really love it here. It's a small enough town to feel homey, but not too small where everyone is always in your business." He said. "I told her that probably wouldn't be anytime soon though. I said we'd have to be married or at least engaged first.""No, that's actually perfect. I'll propose in LA, then we'll move and get married here. It'll be a cute little ceremony, and it's close enough to Jersey where my family members can easily make the trip." He said. He kept going on and on about your wedding, how you should decorate and everything. "Hey, slow down. We don't have to talk about this right now. Let's just get some sleep, enjoy the rest of this trip, and talk about it when we get back to LA." You said, pushing his hair back. "You're right. This is a conversation for another time." He laughed. He reached over and turned the lamp off, wrapping his arms back around your waist as he got comfortable in the bed. "Good night babe, I love you." He said, pressing a kiss to the back of your head. "Love you too. Night baby."
