Kyree had not missed bar hopping, not at all. The lights gave him a headache, the music was irritating, and the constant offers for sex were wearing away at his patience. He wondered how he had been so content in that setting for years yet he had been there only 20 minutes and already felt his sanity slipping away.
"Waiting on somebody?" Kyree glanced up from his beer, his eyes meeting that of a petite woman with lilac hair. Her skin was pale, paler than snow, the light hair framing her face making her look almost gaunt.
"Not at all," Kyree motioned toward the bar stool next to his, "sit, please," the woman did as was asked of her, ordering a cocktail that Kyree politely paid for.
"Trying to get me drunk?" she sipped her drink through a dainty straw, gazing up at Kyree through her half lidded, thick eyelashes.
"You ordered it, I simply paid for it. It is in no way my fault if you get drunk," the woman smiled faintly, examining Kyree with intent in her gaze.
"So, allow me to clarify. You're not waiting on anybody and you don't want to get me drunk so you're not here to meet anybody new. What are you here for?" persistent little thing, that woman. Kyree had hoped she would get the message and leave politely with her drink. He clearly overestimated her kind nature.
"My boyfriend is away for the week and my brother thought bringing me out would take my mind off of him," Kyree pointed at Idella sat at a booth with a dark skinned woman, "he clearly thinks shoving his tongue down her throat is attractive," the two watched as the dark skinned woman pulled away and slapped Idella, stalking out of the bar leaving him looking a little dazed. Kyree chuckled.
"That makes three, I should make a drinking game out of this, it would certainly take my mind off my boyfriend's absence," Kyree's attention returned to the woman, seeing she had not moved her gaze from him, "might I ask what you are doing here tonight?"
"I was searching for someone, as I have been for the past 6 months. And I think I may have just found him," the woman held up a piece of paper, her gaze flickering from it to Kyree over and over before a smile took over her face, "how ironic. I've been searching for this man for a little while and I find him here of all places. The precise bar he met my brother in almost 2 years ago," the smile faded slightly as the woman folded the piece of paper and stuffed it back into her purse, "do you remember, Kyree?" Kyree's brows drew together, his body immediately growing tense.
"Why are you searching for me? Because I had a one night stand with your brother?" Kyree felt the hostility welling within him, he wanted to leave, didn't want to lose control in the general public. It had felt so easy to calm down with Ambrose around him but now that he was alone his grip seemed to slip a hell of a lot faster.
"How about we go somewhere a little more private and I'll tell you everything you want to know?"
"Not gonna happen. Tell me why you've been looking for me and maybe I'll consider it," the woman sighed, standing from her seat and leaning in close to Kyree. To anyone else it would seem like some flirtation, even Idella wouldn't be suspicious, not that he was paying attention to his elder brother anyway.
"I know what you are, Kyree Landon," the woman whispered in his ear, "now, you're gonna walk out of here with me and we're gonna go have a nice chat. Like the sound of that, demon?" Kyree's blood ran cold, his body freezing up as the woman giggled and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, furthering the act of their flirting to the people around them. In that moment, he had two options. Option One: kill the woman on the spot purely for assuming she knew anything about what Kyree was. Option Two, the more sane choice: leave with the woman, find out what she knew and what she wanted then kill her.
