Saige ventured back to her bedroom, adorning a beaming grin, after listening to her father's proposals. Her love for them was growing to an insurmountable level and she wondered if anything else would ever be able to top her two bewitching demon fathers.
"Mmm, that dress," Tyrell rumbled huskily, his gaze locked on the tight powder blue fabric hugging Saige's petite body, specifically her gorgeous ass. Saige giggled, turning as she reached her bedroom and pulling Tyrell in to kiss her, their bodies colliding together as they stumbled through the doorway.
Tyrell's hand slid down her body to bunch up the dress, in the hopes that she would finally let him peel it off her. Saige batted his hands away with each attempt, but not with any particular amount of force, nothing that would stop him from trying again and again.
"Stop, Ty," she breathed, adding just a slight more force to her movements, "Ty," pressing her hands on Tyrell's chest, thrusting the elder demon away from her to grasp some sort of sense of control over herself.
"Saige, I'm sorry," Tyrell ran his thumb down Saige's pale left cheek, pressing a chaste kiss to her forehead. Saige knew Tyrell did that too often to truly forgive. He was constantly throwing himself at her and she happened to wonder if he wanted her simply to flaunt it in Kyree's face, he was shallow enough for that.
But she didn't want to believe her first boyfriend since she had turned was merely with her to piss off her father. So she forgave him time and time again, absently believing he had just lost control for a few moments, despite knowing deeper down that that wasn't the case.
"Will you come to my father's wedding with me?" Saige asked sheepishly, her lips brushing tenderly against Tyrell's chest.
"Of course, beautiful, I would love to," Tyrell placed another kiss on Saige's head, this time on top of her mane of lilac hair, "what happened to him was so awful. It's such a shame his parents had to leave early to take Idella home because he was taken ill, maybe if they had been there he would not have had such severe injuries," at the mention of Idella's sickness, Saige's expression dropped. She looked startled as she backed away from Tyrell, maybe even bordering on terror.
"It... it was you," she breathed, her body beginning to tremble, "y-you poisoned him, y-you got Idella sick so Yennifer and Orion would take him home," Tyrell reached out to touch Saige's arms, to hold her still so he could explain himself, but she ducked away from his touch, "Kyr-" Saige's cries were cut off by Tyrell clamping his hand over her mouth, simply adding to the fear she already felt.
"Must you be so loud, my sweet?" Tyrell growled, using his free hand to catch both of Saige's wrists between his fingers, stilling her body as she whimpered softly, "I didn't want to get you involved, beautiful, I was hoping to keep you. You would make a pretty little pet," Tyrell shifted the hand inhibiting Saige's speech to cover her nose as well, cutting off her supply of oxygen. Her tears ceased then, her struggling increasing in force as panic swelled within her. She was going to die. Tyrell was going to kill her solely to keep her quiet.
As the oxygen within her dwindled, so did Saige's strength. Her vision seemed to be darkening, the awful burning sensation in her chest seeping into a cold numbness. One final tear trickled down Saige's pale cheek, her body losing all stability and simply collapsing against Tyrell, the darkness of unconsciousness seeming much more appealing...
Then suddenly the hand around Saige's mouth and nose was wrenched away and she was falling forward. She pushed her arms out in front of her just in time to stop her head hitting the wooden flooring, coughing and gasping for much-needed air. When she composed herself, holding her aching wrist that had hit the floor at an odd angle, she saw none other than Abigor.
The enormous creature was throwing Tyrell around the room as though he was simply a ragdoll. In the seconds Saige had been focusing on staying conscious, Abigor seemed to have already broken Tyrell's left arm, jaw and probably quite a few ribs. As much as Saige wanted to allow Abigor to rip Tyrell to pieces, she knew he had helped the assassin, therefore may know his identity.
"Wait..." she wheezed, her throat throbbing with each breath she forced down, "stop..." Saige tried to push herself up onto her elbows but hadn't the strength. She was about to roll over and simply allow her body to fall into the welcoming abyss when she felt a pair of hands helping her to a sitting position.
"Hey, you're OK, sweetheart, you're safe," Ambrose's soothing voice lulled the fear out of Saige as she relaxed against his chest, taking slow, shallow breaths as he instructed.
"He knows the assassin," she whispered weakly, watching as Kyree's fist came into contact with Tyrell's bloodied face again, "he's the one who poisoned Idella," Saige wasn't sure if Ambrose had even heard her, she was barely audible to her own ears, let alone someone else's.
"Ky, stop," judging by Ambrose's frown, Saige assumed Kyree wasn't listening to his fiance, "Kyree, stop!" Ambrose's booming voice echoed throughout the room, making Saige flinch with the sudden volume change, "he is working with the assassin, leave Osiris and Anubis to get any information out of him, no more blood needs to be shed by your hands, baby," Saige observed as Kyree allowed Tyrell's limp and bloody body to slump to the floor in a pile of groaning, whimpering limbs. Kyree knelt down next to Saige, brushing the out of place strands of lilac hair back behind her ears, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
"Are you OK, my dear?" Kyree's voice was much gentler than usual, compassionate, a tone he reserved only for Ambrose.
"How did you know?" Saige croaked, her eyes watery as the full extent of her near murder finally hit.
"We didn't," Ambrose answered simply, "we were just stood on the balcony of our room together and Abigor took over. I think he knew, he does seem infatuated with you. Somehow, you must have subconsciously called out to him and he heard."
"I told you Tyrell was-" Kyree began but was silenced abruptly from one well-placed glare from his fiance, "why did he attack you, my dear?" Kyree didn't really care for the reason, was simply content with the justified excuse to mutilate Tyrell beyond recognition.
"He was talking about Idella being poisoned, said he thought that maybe if your parents had been there then you wouldn't have been hurt so bad. I know you never announced that Idella specifically was poisoned, only that one of your family had been taken ill," Saige allowed herself to truly begin crying then, horrified at her own willingness to wallow in self-pity, "I'm sorry, Kyree, you warned me not to be with him, you both did, but I didn't believe you. He was just so sweet and he was the first man to take interest in me and-" Saige succumbed to her sobs, taking great hiccuping breaths as Ambrose rubbed his hand gently across her back. Kyree covered Saige's hand with his own and a feeling of immense calm rolled over her, snuffing out the fear and heartache from within her. She stared incredulously at her father, who had a bemused expression on his face at his daughter's sudden change.
"How are you doing that?" Saige whispered when she finally found her voice again.
"Doing what?" Kyree felt Saige's grip increase when he moved to let go of her hands.
"Making the fear go away, making me calm," at Saige's comment, Ambrose reached out and placed his hand on Kyree's shoulder, a frowning forming on his face.
"I can feel it too, it's a calming effect, has this ever happened before, Ky?" Kyree opened his mouth to answer but didn't get the chance to speak. Instead, he was yanked back as Tyrell, somehow, found the strength to wrap a long, thin piece of metal around his throat. With one well-placed elbow back against Tyrell's shattered rib cage, the twine around Kyree's neck loosened and his attacker crumpled backwards, once again whimpering from the pain.
"Give it up, Tyrell, you're fucking pathetic," Kyree seethed, calling Osiris and Anubis to retrieve the quivering mess that probably could no longer be even considered as a demon.
"I'm gonna bury you next to my brother when he kills you," Tyrell spat as he was dragged from the room, his darkened eyes locked with Kyree's.
"Drop the brother card already," Kyree muttered with a roll of his eyes, "it was five years ago, get over it."
