The Snow GlobeYou had always thought you were someone who had a pretty normal childhood, but that's just because you didn't know how other kids were raised.
You didn't know that other kids didn't have a bunch of "uncles" and "aunts" that went into the study to meet with your dad and wouldn't leave for hours. You didn't know that other kids houses didn't have a bodyguard out front or look more like a fortress than a house. You didn't know that other kids didn't hear the occasional gunshot that would be played off as getting rid of random deer that found their way on the property.
You were worried about the deer when you should've been worrying about the poor soul that crossed your dad that time.
You were stupid and your parents were smart.
They kept you locked in their perfect little snow globe. In a snow globe, you don't know what's going on outside. You only know that it's snowing and everything is pretty.
Your snow globe consisted of several nice things. There was your dad, a businessman that worked for some oil company that was boring enough for you not to ask questions about it. Your mom, a typical stay-at-home mom/ housewife that bought you pretty dresses for your dad's many parties. Your uncles, that came over quite often and gave you pats on the head and nicknames in Spanish. Your aunts, that seemed so tough but were always so sweet to you when they snuck you pieces of candy.
Everything was perfect and snowy.
Until you started noticing more. Asking more questions. Looking around more.
You started to wonder why your "uncles" or "aunts" weren't in your dad's old family pictures. You wondered why your dad never came into class to talk about his job. You wondered why you couldn't go play outside without at least two of your "relatives".
Little things like that made you think. The kids at school you told minor details about your home life to gave you weird looks as if what you were telling them wasn't their norm.
They didn't know about the snow globe. They didn't fit into your parents' picturesque little life for you, so you were pulled out of school.
You were six and had gotten called into your dad's office.
"Y/N, you won't be going to school anymore." He told you bluntly and without explanation. "You will be taught here, at home, from now on."
Your poor self wanted to burst into tears and beg that you stay at school. Your small fists ached to hit him and demand that he let you stay and play with your friends. You, at least, wanted to ask why.
But his stern eyes and cold demeanor alone threatened you not to.
He was not someone to argue with.
Even you knew that.
"Will I see my friends still?" You had asked him quietly.
"You don't need friends." was all he said.Friends didn't belong in the snow globe.
You didn't belong in the snow globe either, but you hadn't realized that yet.

Lying to Survive
Fanfiction"I don't get it," you started. "how do you live like this? How do you not get caught?" Hoseok smiled that same heartbreaking grin. A smile that didn't quite go with the life he led. "It's easy. Lie to survive." -------------- You had just turned...
