Epilogue: Talia's POV

"Nate, the recipe says three eggs," I folded my arms over my chest and sighed in exasperation.

"I gave you three eggs!" Nate's head popped out from above the refrigerator door, his eyebrows furrowed together as he frowned at me.

"You only gave me one egg, Nate."

"You know what, how about you get your own damn eggs?" Nate huffed.

I took a deep breath, "Nate, we have about two hours to finish this cake. I suggest you cooperate before all three eggs end up on your head."

Nate smirked at me, cocking his head to the side. "You know you're kind of hot when you're angry."

I instantly flushed red at his comment, my gaze dropping to the ground. He'd been making comments like these a lot lately, ever since we'd made out in that closet at his house. At first things had been a little awkward between us, I mean we'd gone from best friends to one of us hating the other to kind of liking each other to making out in a closet. It took a couple of days but soon enough we were back to exchanging banter and sarcastic remarks, with the occasional flirty comment slipping out.

However despite all of this, Nate and I hadn't really spent much time alone. As in just the two of us. In fact I was pretty sure this was the only time we'd been properly left alone for more than five minutes since our moment in the closet.

Despite however much I had tried to ignore it, I could feel Nate's eyes constantly following me.  Every few minutes his mouth would open  and then close again as he attempted to say whatever it was that was on his mind.

When my eyes finally lifted from the ground and met his gaze, I saw that he was standing there holding out another egg. "Here's your egg," Nate said as he half smirked, half smiled at me.

I took the egg from him, turning back to face my bowl. I had just lifted the egg into the air, ready to crack it, when I felt Nate's eyes on me again. With an exasperated sigh, I put the egg back down on the counter and turned to face him again.

"What?" I barked.

"What?" Nate repeated, blinking at me in surprise.

"You're staring at me," I stated, raising my eyebrows at him.

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are..."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are."

"How would you know? You were facing the other way!"

"AHA!" I cried. "So you're admitting that you were staring at me."

"I admit nothing!" He declared, folding his arms over his chest so that the muscles on his arm looked even more prominent beneath his white t-shirt.

"Has this," I began with a pause, "has this got anything to do with what happened last week?"

"Last week?" Nate repeated in confusion.

I bit my lip, had he forgotten already? Surely he wouldn't have.

"You know," I mumbled. "Last week."

"Last week?" Nate said again, but this time the corner of his lip twitched upward and I instantly frowned, he was just trying to make me say it. "What happened last week, Talia?"

"You know what  happened last week..."

"Do I?"

My frown deepened into a scowl. "We kissed Nate. WE KISSED. And after that I do recall you saying something about being in love with me."
