CHAPTER 1.3

"We should have just let her go." Wade muttered, slamming his palm against the steering wheel in utter frustration.

"You know we can't do that. She was dangerous." Uta tried to reason.

Richie was still bleeding in out, only now he was unconscious in the back seat. Again.

"He keeps getting hurt. We keep dragging him to fights, and relying on him for protection without sparing a thought to how he's holding up." Leo stated.

Leo was always the most protective over Richie, sometimes he thought he was the only one who cared. Whenever Richie was hurt, it was Leo by his side. Whenever Richie was overwhelmed, Leo was by his side. He knew that his power wasn't easy. Having to constantly protect everyone, all the while getting weaker and weaker the more they were attacked. Eventually the shield would get to weak, so Richie would channel all the attacks. Always taking one for the team.

"It's his job." Zander muttered, suddenly poking his head in the car window.

"You idiot! Someone could see you! Get in!" Wade snapped.

Leo moved himself and Richie over a little to make room as Zander climbed through the window whilst the car was still driving. As per usual.

"Shit, he's really bleeding. Did someone call Gavin?" Zander asked.

"Yeah, he has some herbs ready." Uta replied, tapping his phone to charge it.

As soon as they arrived back at the house Gavin and Penny helped Richie out the car.

"I have the stuff, how bad are the wounds?" Gavin asked as the group placed Richie on the couch.

Leo lifted the back of Richie's shirt. They all sighed at the sight of the stab wounds. Richies back was covered it cuts and burn marks. Some recent, some old. The stab wounds where still oozing blood as Gavin slathered a green substance on them.

"Are you sure it will work?" Wade asked.

"Yeah, I didn't bloom it. I bought it." Gavin answered, satisfied at the sight of the wounds closing.

"I'll take care of him now." Leo muttered.

The sight of Richie's wounds always got to him. He knew they were all at fault. They were the cause of his pain. The reason their backs were free of scars was because of Richie. No one else seemed to realise that.

Leo carefully lifted Richie and carried to their shared room, getting the door shut for some privacy. And some quiet, quiet was important to heal.

Richie groaned as he was placed on the bed, but he remained asleep. Leo was kind of glad he stayed sleeping, as his removed Richie's clothes and replaced them for some warm pj's.

Leo stared at the sleeping boy, carefully removing his glasses. He took in the sight of Richie looking peaceful, the lines on his face soothed, the pain no longer evident. He brushed a strand of black hair behinds Richie's ear before leaning in to place a small kiss on his forehead.

"Feel better. I'll be here when you awaken."

Sleeping was one of Silvia's favourite things to do. To say her life revolves around it would be a colossal understatement. On the rare moments Silvia was not sleeping, she was making other people sleep. Like the lady in the grocery store who stole the last pack of M&M's. She was just another villain. Depriving someone of something dear. Pure evil. Now she was asleep on the floor, with panicked shoppers surrounding her. And Silvia had the pack of M&M's.

Silvia was never apologetic towards her victims. If anything she was doing them a favour, they could catch up on some much needed sleep without even going to bed. Not to mention the insomniacs she had helped during her days. So many insomniacs.
