Lucius called towards Draco.
You clutched onto his hand, trying to give him a reason to stay.
But it was between his friends and his family; the decision he wanted to make was clear.
And so you let him.
You let go of his warm hand; instantly feeling the withdrawal of his warmth. He looked back at you.
"Please; come with me."
He begged; tears pricking his eyes.
"I can't; this is my family, right here. I love you Draco, but I can't."
Draco looked at you, pain yet understanding in his eyes as he lowered his face, connecting his lips with yours.
Then you watched him leave; Lucius placed his hand on Draco's shoulder, neither of you could meet one another's gaze.
It was all too much.
This war was slowly tearing you apart; and now it had taken the only thing you loved.
