He lay his head on my shoulder and I looked at him smiling. I could sense he was still weak. "We should go back inside, you need to focus on getting better," I said.

"I'd rather be out here," he replied.

"You may be better out here in your mind but physically, Geralt you need rest," I told him adamantly. He sighed.

"Okay, Shadow lets do things your way." He rested an arm around my shoulder and  I helped him back inside. Even though we had become inseparable I did give him the space to heal and rest when he needed it. Within a couple of weeks, we were back on the road again, our horses riding close to one another, he halted for a second and so did I. He turned to me and rested a hand on my shoulder. "Thank you, Shadow."

"For what?" I asked a little confused.

"For being there for me, taking care of me. I know you don't deal well with staying in one place for too long," he said, his eyes locked with mine.

"I'm willing to make compromises," I replied, I nudged my horse hard in the ribs and galloped off, I looked behind me and Roach was just about keeping up with me.

"I see you're still a child," he chuckled reaching over and harshly pulling on my reins, pulling my steed to a halt.

"At heart yes." I smiled.

"I think we should stop over and rest, we've been in the saddle for hours," he said and we both walked off the track and into the nearby woods. We tied the horses down and Geralt made a fire while I sat across from him, I crossed my arms over my torso and drew my legs up to my chest. "Are you cold Shadow?" he asked.

"A little," I said.

"Come here," he said and held out his arms to me. I rolled my eyes, stood and walked over. He gently cuddled me to his chest, I felt the warmth radiating from his leather clothing and I found myself soon warming up. "Comfortable?" he asked.

"It's adequate," I giggled.

"Adequate? Well, I can always throw you back into the cold," he said and tried to push me away.

"You would do that to me?" I whined and gave him my best puppy eyes.

"No," he said and cuddling me back into him.

"Knew it!" I giggled. We stayed in this spot till nightfall and so we laid on the saddles and we looked up at the stars in the sky. I found my eyes closing, but I stole a quick glance at Geralt and he was already out, I could also tell from his breathing, it wasn't long till I followed suit.  But at what must have been midnight an owl awoke me from my slumber and so did the low whinny of my steed as he was dreaming. I looked across from me and Geralt was gone, I began to panic and pushed myself off the ground, I looked around me but I couldn't see him.
