Today was the day; Dustin was born. His older sister was so in love with the little baby boy with the same bright blue eyes like her.
The doctor came in and told the bad news: Dustin has cleidocranial dysplasia where bones or teeth are poorly developed or absent.
That are too much infos for such a little girl who was focused on her newborn brother. Until she grows up she never knows the symptoms or consequences.
It's time for Y/N to go to the elementary school; Steve started the school last year. Even though this year distance Steve and Y/N always hang out in the breaks they even have the same extracurricular activity where they have much fun.

One day in the cafeteria they were at a table with two other kids. Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers.
Both have little brothers too. They talked about their favorite food, their favorite colors, yeah even their favorite tv shows.
Until the bad boy Tommy came and throw water on Steve's jeans.
As he want to go to the toilet everyone would see it so his best friend throws water on her jeans too.
They both walked out of the cafeteria and straight into the bathrooms.

"You haven't had to do this to you too, Y/N" steve almost begged.

"I don't want that other kids laugh on you. So they would laugh at the both of us and you weren't alone."
Steve blushed a little bit as he turned away from his lifetime crush.
Yeah he's in love with Y/N and he's embarrassed not because of Y/N more that he felt in love with the girl he has known his whole damn life. The girl who threw water on her jeans so he wouldn't be blamed alone.

"Thank you" he said after a few seconds.

"It's ok Steve you would have done such a thing for me too" she took him right into a hug until the bell rang.
"I've now P.E. see you after school?" He only nodded as she walked away.

He still feels the heat in his cheeks. "I'm such a stupid dipshit" he said to himself.

After school Y/N and Steve went to her home and played a bit with her four months old brother.
"Hey Dusti." They said as they arrived at his bed.

"Wanna play?" Y/N took his brother in her arms and the kids sat down on the carpet in the middle of the room.
"Do you both wanna catch some food?" Claudia Henderson stood in the doorframe.

"Oh yeah please Mrs. Henderson" they walked after her mother into the kitchen.

"So how was the school?"

"Okay, Mum."

"Did something happened?"

"No..no" Steve was a bit nervous.

"I've talked to Nancy's mom. She said you both threw water onto your pants."

"Okay mom so we didn't. Okay I did but Steve it was thrown on him and I don't want that he's embarrassed so I did it to myself so they would laugh at the two of us"

"oh baby, I'm so sorry". Mrs. Henderson embraced her girl and her best friend at the same time.

"I'm proud that you both got this incredible bond. That you're doing shit together and stock together in every situation. I'm happy that you two are so good to each other" she gave the two some forehead kisses.

"Oh mom. Ihr stop that you're embarrassing"

"okay I'll let you both alone Dustin and me are going on a walk. I hope the food tastes good."

"Thank you mom see you later" after those words her mother left the house and they were alone.

"Okay so what are we gonna do now?"

"Homework?" Y/N answered after his question

"I mean... never mind"

"no Steve. Tell me" she hit him mild against his arm.
"What do you wanna do?"

"Maybe we could play hide and seek or we can watch a film."

"What kind of film?"

"You choose"

Steve and Y/N walked over to the living room and sat in front of the tv cupboard.
"what about Harold and Maude?"

"Yeah ok" they watched the movie over hundred times but it gets never boring.

After one and an half hour the film was over and Y/N's mother was back.
"Honey do you have been watching tv the whole time?"
"Before we started we made our homework"
"really? Steve?"
"Yeah we did."
"Okay. Steve do you wanna stay a bit longer or should I drive you home?"

"My mom is definitely worried about me. It would be a pleasure"

"Yeah ok6. Y/N do you wanna come with us?" She only nodded in response and stood up from the couch.

"Do you got everything Steve?"

"Yeah" the boy held his backpack in front of him.
