Mackenzie's phone lit up, starting to ring, scaring everyone who was remotely interested by the movie.  She got plenty of shushing noise as she quickly answered, just to end the horrific ringing.  She leaned away from the others as best as she could while still watching the movie.

"Hello?"

A deep voice came through the phone, "Uh, hey? This is Tony, I'm delivering your pizza.  I'm outside your building right now."

Mackenzie stood up quickly, looking around the room for someone who was the least interested in the movie. "Kolby, come with me to get the pizza?"

Kolby, one of her closest friends and roommates, groaned while sliding off the couch dramatically.  "Do I have to?"

Mackenzie nodded while letting out a quiet laugh, "Yeah, what if he kills me or kidnaps me?"

There was a distant sound of someone clearing their throat, bringing Mackenzie to the realization that the pizza delivery guy was still on the phone and could definitely hear everything she just said.  She quickly spoke into the phone before hanging up, "We'll be right down."

She looked to Kolby desperately, "Please, Kolby?  He heard me accuse him of potentially being a murderer, now you have to come with me."

Her friend didn't want to leave the comfort of the pillow fort, but agreed anyways.  She really wanted pizza to eat in the pillow fort.

They headed down the stairs and out the front door of their apartment building, immediately spotting the Domino's delivery car with what looked to be an average looking guy in his early twenties leaning against the hood.  He was scrolling away on his phone while holding the bag of greasy deliciousness.

Mackenzie shot Kolby a look, which wasn't very decipherable, but she meant it to mean 'the pizza guy is hot'.  Kolby just acted like a normal human and grabbed the pizza and wings from him, leaving Mackenzie to hand him the tip.  Mackenzie's palms were sweating, partially from the humidity in the air, but also because she wasn't that great with her personal skills.

Mackenzie handed the delivery guy his tip, giving him a shy smile.  She felt the need to say something, apologizing or something.

"I'm sorry for calling you a murderer and what not."

He nodded his head, opening the passenger door and placing the bag inside of his car.  "It's cool."

Mackenzie smiled, feeling a bit more relaxed.  "I'm Mackenzie, by the way."

Tony gave her a small head nod while opening his door, "Rad."

He sat in the car, closing the door and driving off, leaving Mackenzie feeling butterflies in her stomach.  That little three-letter word played over and over in her head, and his slight nod of the head made Mackenzie smile uncontrollably.  It was happening again.

Kolby yelled from their door, "Mackenzie, hurry up!  You have the key card to get in."

Mackenzie came back to reality, running to let Kolby in so they could all eat dinner finally.  She still took time to discuss her feelings with Kolby.

"Wasn't he so cute?  In like a relaxed, surfer guy kind of vibe?  Do you think he's single?"

Kolby laughed to herself, "Oh my god, Mackenzie, relax.  Give it a few days and you'll find another cute guy to obsess over.  One that you may actually see again."

Mackenzie rolled her eyes, "Yeah, but what if he's the one."

Mackenzie had a pattern of quickly obsessing over any cute person that came into her life, whether it be for just a quick minute or for years.  She'd have that feeling of love at first site, but then soon realize it was just her mind and then move onto the next victim.  It wasn't unusual to any of her friends, considering many of them were victims of her feelings at one point in time, even Kolby.

Kolby placed the pizza on the floor for a second, pulling Mackenzie towards her and leaving her hands on her shoulders.  She gave her a quick shake, "Snap out of it!  It'll be easier for you if you just understand right now that there was nothing there.  The guy only said 'rad' to you.  Save yourself the heartbreak, sweetie."

Mackenzie took a deep breath, nodding her head.  "You're right."

And she was.

But was Mackenzie really going to listen that easily and move on with her life?

Absolutely not.
