We talked most the time home, until i had to go and ruin everything. I was talking about my brother, and how he was so annoying, and i could tell that Ryan was sad, but i didnt want to say anything, so i carried on saying how he gets all the attention.

"Do you have a brother" I asked. He just shook his head, and kept it down. It was like he was hiding something. "Are you ok" I wispered. I got nothing. "Rya-"

"Just shut-up, you havent stoped talking, you can see i didnt want to talk but you just kept on asking" He lashed out. Tears fled to my eyes, as we pulled up to the stop. I just ran off, and chose to ignore the shouting in the background.

"wait..Lucy" Pathetic, why should i listen to him. "Lucy, listen to me" He grabed my arm and spun me around. I found his eyes, and blushed slightly, forgetting he was such a pig. "Im sorry...i just cant talk about this now, i didnt mean to shout, i just couldnt bear to think about..." I just stood their, feeling his hand against my arm, his warm breath against my cheek. "Can i just have your number, and we can meet up tomorrow, i'll treat you to a big mac, as an apoligy?"

"ok.." As soon as i gave him my number he was off. I just stood still and gased at the road, wondering what i've let myself in for.

My hands were frozen as i slid the key in the door. "Hey mum, im back" I got no answer, so i cheaked upstairs to see if Max was in bed as it was late. He was fast asleep, with the tv still on, typical. I knocked on my mums bedroom door, but still no answer, so i ran to the kitchen to see if she left a note. Nothing. She had never left max on his own before, and never disapered like this, so i ran next door to see if Eleanor had heard anything.

Before Eleanor even opened the door, i could smell the scent of freshly baked cakes.

"well hello dear, how can i help you?"

"Mums..shes...i..i..Mums gone" was all i could get out

"calm down, shes here" she looked worried as she let me in, as i ran though to the front room, to find my mum there.

"Mum?"

"Darling, i know we havent got on in the past, but i just want you to know, im so proud of you,a nd i love you" She stroked my cheeks and she said those dreaded words. "I've got Cancer"
