Joe's P.O.V.
How was I so stupid? I felt like such an idiot. All this time, I was being used without realizing it. I didn't see what was right in front of me; the truth.
I can't believe I turned my back on the only woman I've ever loved. I called her a whore, a backstabbing bitch, and a worthless excuse of a girlfriend while she was telling me the truth all along.
Now, because of me and the ones who loved her, she's in the hospital suffering.
The one thing I never wanted her to go through because of me.
I miss her smile. I miss her beautiful laugh. I miss her gentleness and tenderness.
Basically, I miss her in general.
As Randall drove off, Alyssa couldn't stop crying.
"Sis, we're so sorry." Colby told her.
She shook her head as she turned to him.
"Just....please.... don't talk to me right now. Please. The last thing I need is beat the living shit out of you. Not right now." she told him.
"Lyssa, we're sorry. For everything we put her through." Jon said.
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to." she said as she turned around.
Randall grabbed her hand in reassurance.
I saw Colby with a look of hurt of his face. He grew close to Randall when he and Alyssa got together.
The fact that his sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law won't even glance at him hurts him. Randall cared deeply for Vanessa. He helped train her. She was like his little sister.
I was trying to to cry at the thought of Vanessa suffering on a hospital bed because of me.
We finally got to the hospital and parked the car.
All of us got out and walked in the hospital. We walked to the receptionist.
"Vanessa Ouellett." Alyssa said.
"She has a list of people to call in case of an emergency here. Relationship?" the lady asked.
"I'm Alyssa Lopez. Her best friend. This is my fiancé, Randall Orton, and our best friend, Sami." she explained.
"Okay. And the rest of you?" she asked the others.
"Colby Lopez and Jon Good. We're her cousins." Colby said.
She turned to look at me.
"Boyfriend." I said.
"She's in Room 312 on the third floor." the lady told us.
All of us walked to the elevator and waited to get to the floor. There was just dead silence the whole way up.
Alyssa couldn't look at one of us except for Randall. He would hug her in comfort and give her forehead kisses. Alyssa looked up to Vanessa as a big sister. Vanessa helped train her and introduced her to Randall.
The elevator doors opened and all of us walked out.
We saw Charlotte and Sasha in the hallway sitting down. I instantly ran to them. They noticed me and stood up.
"How is she?" I asked.
Sasha wiped her eyes as Charlotte shook her head. "Not good. They think she's not going to wake up."
I gasped as I saw we were in front of her room.
Alyssa opened the door and I instantly heard a sob escape her mouth.
Once I got in and took a look, I shut my eyes and turned around, trying not to cry. Jon came over and hugged me.
I looked back at Vanessa and my heart just shattered.
She was hooked to all kinds of wires. A lot of them were of fluid and three of them were of blood. She had on a breathing mask and a large gash on her face that was stitched up.
Colby and Jon's eyes filled with tears as they looked at their former best friend.
Randall and Sami were trying not to cry as they comforted Alyssa, who clung to them.
"This is my fault." I said as I walked over to Vanessa.
"No, Joe. It's our fault." Jon sobbed.
It was then we heard the door open. In walked in the two people I was scared of as of right now.
Maryse gasped as she sank to her knees at the sight of her sister.
"Ma pauvre soeur! Cela ne peut pas arriver!" she screamed in french.
Mike comforted her as he pulled her up.
"This can't be happening! I can't lose her!" she sobbed. Mike was crying as well.
I guess he didn't know we were in here, because the second he turned and saw me, Jon, and Colby, his face turned into a glare. His tears were still falling.
"You sons of bitches!" he yelled as he lunged for us.
Randall, Maryse, and Alyssa held him back.
"We already know what happened! We feel like shit right now!" I told him.
It was then he calmed down and the rest let him go.
Both of them walked over to Vanessa.
They got on their knees, holding her her right hand.
The guys and I decided to stay behind, since they wouldn't want us near Vanessa.
They all stood up.
"You guys can go near her. I'll let you off the hook, but don't think this puts us on the same page." Maryse told us.
We nodded as all five of them walked out of the room.
The guys and I all walked over to Vanessa. Colby grabbed her right hand as Jon placed a hand on her arm. I grabbed her left hand.
"I miss her, man." Jon said.
"Me too. It doesn't feel the same without her. She's in pain from all three of us." Colby added.
I shook my head as tears clouded my eyes.
"I should've known all along. I was so stupid." I told them.
I caressed the top of her hand in small circles.
"We'll get her back. She is the only girl our group needs." Jon said.
"She's the only Luna of The Shield. She always has been." Colby added.
I only sniffled.
Can you leave us alone for a bit?" I asked them.
They nodded before they gave me bro hugs.
After they left the room, I turned my attention back to Vanessa.
"You've got to make it, Babygirl. I need you so much. I already lost you once, I don't want to lose you again. Please, Ness. Wake up." I said as I kissed her hand.
I felt tears stinging my eyes and before I knew it, I was a sobbing mess.
