A/N: the b beside the chapters will be considered bonus content, mostly surrounding the readers past and development of her 'friends'. These won't happen too often unless it's wanted more often. It's gonna be short and sweet.
"I wish I was an Ajin so I could jump off this hill and live."
"Shut the fuck up Evan." A whack was heard and the victim of said assault murmured an ow out loud, rubbing the spot his head had been hit with. "That's insenstive.....Louis and Vinnie are right the-"
"It's fine." Vin waved it off breathing out into the dark night. He tugged on the collar of his jacket, the chilly air becoming overwhelming. The boys watched Louis walk off, his phone providing the light needed as he made his way down the hill carefully. And the other boys quickly reprimanded Evan's insensitivity. "But I don't think Louis is doing any better...."
Grudgingly Vin stood up, patting off the dirt and sparing the two other boys a glance and pointed behind him. "I'm going to follow him. You two stay safe."
"I'll keep this turd's mouth shut for now." The blonde boy stated stuffing his hand on the shorter boys mouth, he struggled but the taller of the two proved to be stronger than him most definitely. "Go talk to the angsty dude."
As Vin made his way down he listened to the voice of the two teens and clinched his fists hearing the words.
"He's acting like she died....she can't even die so he needs to get over it." That was most certainly Evan, the boy was insensitive and even with warnings he never seemed to understand how his words effected others. He was lucky Vin wasn't one for violence unlike Louis whose willingly punched him before.
Vin bit his tongue choosing not to respond to the insensitive words uttered. The further down the hill the more he cringed recognizing the path and catching the appearance of rusty objects that should've been removed because of the incident. But no, the cops left it there for another subject.
He caught the sight of dried red and looked away, searching for Louis's light.
"Louis!" He shouted shifting around once he reached the bottom, he scratched his head and stared down a path with a hint of fear. He really didn't want to go down that path but it was most likely the one he had went down. "Louis man come on...." He shouted again trailing off as he walked down the path. He held his breathe remembering how quickly he ran down this path before, and amidst his thoughts he tripped doing exactly what he had done previously.
He stumbled, falling on his face and sliding a bit down into the ditch area and groaned once he stopped. He propped himself up realizing that he was behind his friend Louis, the latter on his knees with his back turnt as if unbothered by the trip Vin had suffered. Warily Vin pushed himself fully up, standing and staring down at the pitiful view of Louis. The boy had his head bowed and Vin was desperately searching for something to say.
"Lou-"
"Y'know she really liked her hair clips..." It was whispered and inwardly Vin screamed to take the subject off her but he couldn't bring himself to do so. "It was a present from her old man but she was so terrified when we found her that she never realized that she didn't have it on her. I decided to drop it off at school the next day but then Eric did that....."
"Louis we should go hom-"
"He's a bastard for doing that to her!" Louis whirled around, hands clenched around something and Vin wondered if it were the clips he was talking about. "He made us sign the thing and we couldn't deny anything because it was on his Instagram photos that we were all there....it's no fair she never got her...." The boy sniffled and Vin felt his heart tug at the tears that dripped down Louis's brown cheeks. "..Her clips or to see her old man again."
Vin knew there was something else he wanted to say. But he knew not to push that aspect of it, it was already too much regret inside that boy.
"I wish I would've hid her like we said we should've, maybe than her dad wouldn't have died and she wouldn't be missing."
"I'm sure she's safe."
"An Ajin safe in this world?" A bitter chuckle and Vin started to feel uncomfortable. "I doubt it but keep thinking that way for me please."
"Let's go home Louis." Vin made his way to the boy whose knees weakened and stumbled into Vin's arms. Vin left out an exhausted sigh, leading the boy up the hill with difficulty. "Let's just get you home....."
The two made their way up the hill, both drained from the day itself.

"Hey! Hey beautiful!" Louis cheered at the girl who stood alone at the corner of the street, his heart hammered when she looked up from her flip phone eyes sparkling and a bright smile overtook her face.
"Hey Louis!" [F.N] cheered, waving with her free hand and cocked her head curiously. "Where's Vin?"
"The ginger forgot his bookbag of all things....can you believe him? That has his homework for crying out loud..." He trailed off staring at the two cutesy clips in her hair and then back down to the tomboyish appearance of hers. She gave a sheepish grin when Louis pointed to them, a teasing grin growing on his face and she blushed punching his arm. "Owww I didn't even say anything!"
"You were thinking of it!" She laughed back cheeks still feeling heated. "So shut it!"
"Owww," He joked as she gave a pitiful punch, he knew she could hurt him but she was only playing. "What's with the clips?"
"My dad bought them for me.." She replied smiling at the mention of her dad. "I couldn't, not wear them....they were cute."
"I think you're cuter."
"Shut up Louis." Both [F.N] and Vin's voice uttered the same words and Louis found himself pouting at both. Vin made his way over flicking [F.N]'s forehead with a snort. "Sup [L.N]."
"Nothing much, brought your book bag finally?"
"Laugh all you want but I got no sleep last night so I forgot you dweeb."
The three turned upon seeing a bus come down the street and Vin let out a groan of discomfort as Louis started talking to [F.N] about the clips, she replied happily mentioning that her dad bough it during his time at the county fair.
Vin grinned, looping his arm around both their necks and dragging them in prompting a flurry of laughter on all their parts.
--
Vin sometimes wished it was normal again.
He wished to return to the simple times and stupid attitude he had, he wished that Louis had his own personality again and that one simple thing didn't ruin everything like it did.
"Dammit..." he rubbed his face, watching Louis stare out at the moon from his bedroom window and Vin wished that he'd just come and hang out again like normally. "Louis....dude...please."
"I'm sorry for being like this." Louis replied dryly, and Vin felt guilty for wanting the guy to ignore his own issues and for not acknowledging his own issues as well. "Do you think she looks at the moon and thinks of us?"
It was silent and Vin wasn't sure what to say. He merely stared at his friend with defeat, knowing that this was never going to end.
"I like to think that as I stare at this moon.....that somewhere, someplace. I know she's got to be looking at it too."
And for the first time in almost two years, Vin broke down into heart wrenching sobs. Louis's words weren't even that meaningful but the display of his had been enough to render poor Vin to his own pitiful state. Louis grimaced but smiled at the boy with his own sad eyes.
"I thought you were holding it in too long bro."
