To the boys at Ridgemount High School, Ashton Irwin was a living legend. He was well known for throwing the biggest house parties in Sydney, had slept with almost every girl in their senior year, and was always up for it (even if it was being dared to go skinny dipping in his neighbours pool at 4am, resulting in his parents having to bail him out of jail for trespassing and a month of grounding).
To the girls at Ridgemount High School (that had succumbed to his sexual advances), Ashton Irwin was a self-centred, egotistical jackass. He was constantly leaving them with empty promises - "I promise I'll call you" being the most common - and had taken a fair few virginities.
He liked to 'fuck and chuck' girls, as Michael would say.
He had enough of them falling to his feet and worshiping the ground he walked on, why shouldn't he?
Ava Summers was different.
She hadn't fallen for his stupid charm, or his stupid dimples, or his stupid giggle which was so stupid she couldn't help but smile if she sometimes overheard it in the school corridors.
She'd done the whole 'partying every weekend and occasionally getting stoned because everyone said it was fun even though it wasn't and she almost cried the first time because she felt like her limbs were going to fall off' thing.
She now preferred to stick with her small group of friends and spend her weekends in a blanket burrito, watching as many episodes of a TV show possible before her eyes physically refused to stay open any longer.
She'd had enough drama in her 17 years to last her a lifetime, and didn't want any more.
Ashton obviously didn't understand that, because he was about to turn her entire world upside down (in a good or bad way, he didn't quite know).
