We split, and Felix and I scaled a fence to reach the building.
We found the fire escapes round the back, and I started up the metal stairs, but Felix caught my hand. I turned to face him.
His expression was blank.
He cupped my cheek and planted his lips on mine, giving me just enough time to kiss back before he pulled away."For good luck." he said, smiling sheepishly. I chuckle.
"Get your ass up these stairs meme boy." I said softly, and he followed me.
We took care to stay silent on the stairs, and many flights later we reached the access door on the fifth floor. Felix busted it open and I followed him inside, gun in hand, and crept with him down the corridor.
"Clear." he whispered. I nodded and moved around him, peering around the next corner.
"Guard." I whispered, putting the silencer on my pistol. Felix picked a rock from his back pocket and through it into the corridor just infront of me.
As planned, the guard moved towards it to inspect it. I held my breath as he rounded the corner and shot him in the head point blank.Felix and I stepped around the body and moved towards the room the guard was previous stood outside. There were muffled voices coming from inside. Despite the silencer, they had heard the shot, and seemed to be in a state of panic.
"Shoot to kill." Lix reminded me, and I felt his breath on my neck. I nodded.
"I'll take the ones on the left." I said. He started to count down.
On 'go' we barged into the room, surveying the people only briefly before taking out all four.
The briefcase lay open in the table between the bodies. I shut it and grabbed it tightly."Lix, Channie isn't here yet."
"I know. Get it out of here, I've got your back." he said firmly. I nodded and ran for it, while he made sure no one else came to stop me.
I bolted down the fire escape stairs and vaulted the fence at the bottom, throwing open the door on the drivers side of the van.
"Hey Minnie." I panted, pushing the briefcase into his arms.
"Hey Boss." he smiled until he realised I was leaving again. His expression darkened. "Chan told you to stay with it."
"Felix isn't out yet-"
"He'll get out by himself, Chan said to stay."
"Chan isn't my boss." I looked at him sternly. "I'm getting the team out, the clock is ticking."
Seungmin sighed but didn't try to stop me again.I ran back up the stairs to the fifth floor. The access door was still open. I ran through it with my gun raised, passing the room with the bodies and continuing down the corridor. Gunshots rang downstairs and I headed for the elevator.
The doors opened on the floor above the lobby, and I took out a guard on the spot. A grand staircase lead from the middle of the floor down, and I crouched by it.
On the floor below, 7 of the team were battling with bodyguards and armed assistants. I looked for Felix. He wasn't there. There was a growl from below me and I saw Chan shoot a guard in the chest, as another one advanced from behind.
"Chan!" I yelled, jumping over the bannister and landing on the guy, knocking him out. I shot him anyways.
No witnesses.
Chan spun around to me.
"Thanks." he said. "Where's Felix and why did you come back for us?"
"He said he had my back but never followed me out the building. I can't find him. The case is with Seungmin." I said lowly. He nodded, just as Changbin shot the last man from the opposite side of the room.
I looked around. Jisung was dragging a wounded Minho to the exit. It looked as though he'd been shot in the leg.
Hyunjin, Changbin and Woojin were standing around, still tense."Guys split up. We have ten minutes to find Felix and get the hell out." I ordered. They nodded.
I took the rooms leading off the lobby, finding most of them empty of signs of life.
As I approached the last room, I heard a cry, but it wasn't that of a teenage boy. I gulped.
I kicked the door open and stood in awe.
There was a cott in the middle of the bedroom."Congratulations, you're a mother." Woojin appeared behind me.
"What? No I can barely keep Jeongin in check!" I exclaimed.
"You can't leave him." he said, moving towards the crying child. I stood beside him and gazed down. The baby was three months at most.
"Sorry kid.." I said absent mindedly, reaching into the cott and allowing my finger to be engulfed by his small fist. It seemed to calm him down. "We killed your parents.."
"Y/n."
I looked up at Woojin.
"We need to leave. Take the kid, let's go." he said firmly. I picked the baby up and held him close to my chest, following him back to the lobby.
"Did you find him?" I asked Chan. He shook his head. The other's expressions were grim.
"We need to get out." Chan said, looking at the child in my arms. "Congrats." he added. I rolled my eyes.
"Are you sure you checked everywhere?" I asked.
"Even the penthouse." Chanbin replied.
"Maybe he's in the van already." Hyunjin suggested, placing a hand on my shoulder to calm me. I began to nod, but a gunshot from below us cut me off.
"This place has a basement?!" I yelled in disbelief. The members looked at eachother. Chan looked at his watch.
7:52
At that moment, Seungmin started to beep the horn rapidly."Y/n we need to leave now." Chan said firmly, grabbing my arm and dragging me towards the door.
Felix wasn't in the van.
"I'm going back in." I stated and reached for my gun again, having handed the baby boy to Jisung.
"No, you're not." Chan deadpanned. "Seungmin, drive."
"But Felix-"
Seungmin stepped on it, and the van sped away.
"You said it yourself." Chan reminded me. "Anyone who gets caught us dead to us. It was your first rule as boss. Felix is dead."
"No, he's not." I was close to tears. "He's not, and I'm changing the rules."
Chan raised his eyebrows."Why?"
"Because if you were caught I'd go back for you. I'd go back for all of you. I'm not gonna leave you behind."
