Continuing my experiments with WattPad is this fiction, set as part of my Total Fanfic line of stories. The first of a series of MLP/Doctor Who crossovers.

Princess Celestia recruits a reluctant 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi) to assist I'm a Friendship Mission in Manehatten siding familiar faces. Along the way they find themselves caught up in an incident that leads them to a plot, a terrible plot to attack the Crystal Empire and Yakyakistan. All in the cause of a mysterious being whose motives they must uncover before it's too late.

Once Upon A Hearths Warming Eve...

(This story is set after MLP Season 6 (on the night of Heat the Warming Eve from Season 6 A Hearths Warming Eve Tale) & between Doctor Who Series 9 & 10).

"So... Let's begin... This is the story of when I first met The Doctor. It all started one Hearths Warming Eve night...

It was a year ago. Twilight was hosting family and friends at Castle Harmony for Hearths Warming Eve (the first holiday spent with her then new protege Starlight). We had just barely stopped a "misunderstanding" between holiday icon Jingle Hooves and Twilight over comments she made concerning the holidays and Jingle's role in them.

Luna had left this reality, apparently getting into a misadventure with an old friend in another universe. Who I was about to find out was a past version of The Doctor.

Cadance and Shining Armor were celebrating the first Hearths Warming Eve for Flurry Heart and fellow parents the Cakes. So on and so on. Hearths Warming Eve was busy. However more than simply that, it was Hearths Warming Eve and those close enough to be family or as close an approximation I had to family was away. Still tis the holidays and I had to make due as I was on duty this holiday night, and didn't mind the time alone just to reflect on concerns lately.

I had already dismissed the staff for the night, and was in the process of settling myself into a quiet silent evening by myself. My hoof falls echoed loudly as I trotted through the empty halls, heading to the throne room, to begin the night watch. I had already used the cloning spell to create a spell body for my consciousness as my body slept, prepared to tackle the night under my charge while Luna was briefly away.

The walk to the throne room seemed longer than usual... Maybe my spell was off, as time seemingly muddled to my senses as I wandered the empty hallways. I had already lowered the Sun earlier, Luna raising the Moon before heading out, so all that was left was to get to the shift. An easy enough task in this holiday as little mischief occurred during Hearths Warming Eve as a usual rule. Ponies were too occupied celebrating the season to get into much trouble during the holidays. "

Briefly in the here and now present Celestia thinks of what Luna told her of her latest other world mischief. An adventure involving aliens that inhabit dreams, a odd holiday merrimaker who had often hidden in dreams and interacted with her in the past, and that every Hearths Warming Eve (Christmas) is some pony's last... Celestia, even now, didn't understand but... Maybe she didn't want to know the sad implication of the statement.

Evening Watch means using spells to observe and monitor Equestria for signs of trouble. The spell created scrying wall wavered before Celestia, showing her the different cities and villages of Equestria on this Hearths Warming Eve, all info continuously gathered and related via Crystal enchanted monitoring "eyes" placed throughout Equestria. The scrying spyglass Luna used in the past in front of Twilight was just as good, but this spell was faster and provided more coverage quicker. The thought that they only used the scrying spyglass was a misconception meant to foster incorrect assumptions about how Celestia and Luna monitored Equestria.
