"Hey, that guy is checking you out."

"So?"

"So, go talk to him."

I was currently at the beach with an old friend of mine.

"No thanks, Marie."

"Come on. Don't be a fucking buzzkill."

"No! If he wants to talk, he's the one who is going to have to come over and talk. I'm not interested. You talk to him."

Marie groaned.

"Fine."

I scrolled through my timeline on twitter, retweeting some things. I checked my followers list and found that Luke had followed me. I rolled my eyes and tapped on to his account.

I scrolled through some of his tweets, and saw he had a couple million followers. I followed back and locked my phone.

"Hey, Marie. I'm gonna go get a drink. Want one?"

"Get me a Baja Blast."

I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"This isn't Taco Bell, you doof."

"I know! I wish they had one."

I scoffed and grabbed my wallet.

"Okay, sure."

I got up and started walking toward the cart with desserts and drinks.

"Get me a coke!" Marie called after me. I held a thumbs up and got in line.

"Hey, you were that girl who played volleyball at the state championships a couple months ago, right?"

I turned around and saw a guy looking at me.

"Me?"

"Yeah. You're a hella badass player. Can I get your number? My name is Thomas."

"Uh, thanks, and sure."

We traded numbers and he grinned.

"We should get lunch or something later."

"Um, okay."

I turned back around and paid for my two drinks and walked back to Marie.

"Did you see that?" I asked her.

"See what?"

"Some random guy just came up to me and asked for my number."

"Ooh! Did he have brown hair and green eyes?"

"I don't know about his eyes, but he had brown hair, yeah. Why?"

"That's the guy who was checking you out! What did he say?"

"He said I was a badass player at the volleyball championships and we traded numbers." I said flatly.

"He likes you!"

"No, he just said I was good at volleyball. Why the fuck does it matter if he likes me or not? Go ask him out."

"No! You know I'm loyal to Ben."

I snorted.

"For now."

I looked ahead at the water and saw someone heading toward us. They were looking at Marie.

"Hey, that guy is looking you. Go talk to him, Marie. I won't tell Ben." I winked.

She squealed and ran. I laughed and got on my phone to listen to my music. I felt a tap on my arm ten minutes later.
