Ch. 34: Don't Try Me

3rd Person POV

Time flew by and before they knew it, the girls were back in their apartment. They hadn't informed the boys yet since they were going to surprise them on the second day of school.

The only person who did know was Lucas and he was plotting it with the girls. He was their "secret agent" and he also couldn't wait to meet Carol.

^Time Skip^

School has finally begun and the whole Host Club arrived.

Jaehyun's POV

It was the first day of school and Jaehyun has dreaded the day ever since he found out Mei wasn't going to be there for their senior year.

"Jaehyun? Are you going to wake up yet?" A little voice asked. It was Jackson.

"hm... until Mei comes back, no." Jaehyun responded.

"WHAT? But I'm hungry." Jackson whined.

"ugh ok... wait in the kitchen." Jaehyun replied.

Jaehyun slowly got up from his bead and headed towards his restroom. He looked in the mirror and got a flashback from all of the times he spent with Mei. Them meeting for the first time, snuggling, dancing, and kissing in front of the whole school.

He gave a slight smile and went back to doing his stuff. He walked towards the kitchen and made scrambled eggs for breakfast for him and Jackson. He drove to school with no excitement at all. He was not motivated either.

All he could think of was Mei and only her. He finally arrived to school and entered his classroom. His first class was with Johnny.

"Yo dude, why the sudden mood change?" Johnny asked.

"You heard about the girls not coming back right?" Jaehyun answered.

"No.... what happened?" Johnny questioned. Jaehyun couldn't even look up nor speak... all he could do was think of Mei and start crying.

"Oh shit, dude... uh what could I do to cheer you up?" Johnny worried.

"Nothing."

"How about.... John's Banana? No homo though."

"EW DUDE you're so disgusting."

"WEll. It did help." Johnny exclaimed

"UGh whatever just don't ever say that again."

"Haha okk." Johnny agreed. Class soon started after and was a pain.

Jaemin's POV

"So she really isn't coming huh..." Jaemin asked Jeno.

"I guess not... I'm sorry..." Jeno relied.

"It's- It's ok, it's not your fault..." Jaemin said as he wiped a tear.

"C'mon dude, let's get you to class. You're already late." Jeno said.

"Well I'd rather be late than lose her." Jaemin said.

"So that's why you were late...." Jeno answered.

"What do you mean?" Jaemin questioned.

"You stayed up all night crying didn't you? Sorry to tell ya but.. I could tell.... You're eyes are super puffy and red." Jeno admitted.

"oh... I didn't think anyone would notice..." Jaemin sighed.

"You don't think I'd notice? We've been best friends ever since birth.." Jeno rolled his eyes. "Anyways let's just get you to class. I'll be with you later."

Mark's POV

RIIINGG RIIINNGGG

Mark's alarm went off and he just rolled over and slammed the snooze button. He was debating whether or not he should even go to school because he honestly felt emotionally drained since Kae wasn't coming back and he didn't know when he could see her again.

He was about to fall asleep again but this time his phone rang and it was Haechan.

"Hey Mark. I'm outside open up we're going to school." was all Haechan said before hanging up.

Mark slowly trudged over to the door and opened it for Haechan. Haechan barged in and dragged Mark back to his room to get ready to school. They went to school together and Haechan was trying his best to bring up Mark's spirits. It didn't really work though...

He went through the whole day feeling sad and down. Mark tried his best to be a good host at the Host Club but the girls could tell something was up.

"What's wrong, Mark? Are you ok?" The girls asked.

Mark just let out a small smile, "I'm fine haha nothing to worry about. It should be me asking you guys how you are haha"

"Mark...take a break. You're not in your best state right now. It's ok. Just go home for today" One of the girls said.

"Thanks" Mark said and let out another small smile before going into the back room.

Johnny saw Mark walk in and by his encounter with Jaehyun in the morning he knew Mark was feeling down since Kae wasn't there. Johnny just walked up to Mark and pat him on the back.

"It's ok dude. I'll be here for you. I'm your foreign swagger" Johnny comforted.

Mark let out a chuckle "Thanks dude"

Mark went home and crashed on the couch and let out a big sigh while rubbing his forehead.

"How am I supposed to live without you?" Mark whispered to himself.
