Kae's POV

It was the next day and it was time to cut Grant off.... even though Kae's only known him for a span of 2 days.

Everything went well during school hours but it was now detention.

"May I go put my books away?" Kae asked Mrs. Shira as usual.

"Yes. You know the drill, Grant go assist her," Mrs. Shira responded as she was grading some papers.

"Um Mrs. Shira? I think I am fully capable of walking myself to my own locker don't you think?" Kae commented. Now normally Kae wouldn't have a problem with Grant taking her to her locker but it was time to cut him off.

"Hm okay. You may go," Mrs. Shira agreed. Kae nodded and took off to her locker. She walked to her locker as usual and once she got to her locker, she looked around for someone...

"You ready to do this?"

"Yeah," Kae sighed.

"Okay. You know the cue. Walk back to detention and when Grant asks you about the whole locker thing, just ignore him. And when he asks you later why you ignored him, say you didn't have your contacts in,"

"Yes I know. I got it," Kae said as she rolled her eyes.

"I know, but that's just the first phase,"

"Yes, I know," Kae responded. She gave him a quick hug and went back to detention. As she gets in Grant gives her a look.

Kae shrugs and sits back in her seat as she starts to pack stuff up.

"Kae, may I see you for a moment?" Mrs. Shira asked.

"Yes?" Kae questions as she stands up from her desk and walks over to Mrs. Shira's desk.

"Well I've noticed that Fae, your older sister, has been making excellent grades in my class. I have another student who is doing poorly and really needs a tutor. Will you ask her if she can come in on Thursday afterschool in the library? I'll have all the material so she doesn't need to bring anything," Mrs. Shira asked.

"Oh yeah, I'll ask her," Kae replied.

"Great. Thank you," Mrs. Shira thanked. Kae walked back to her seat and just watched the clock tick as the time passed.

"Ok! You are dismissed," Mrs. Shira announced. Kae swiftly pulled her bag onto her shoulder and headed out of the room. Fortunately, Grant caught up just as she had expected.

"Hey!" Grant called out.

"Oh... hey," Kae responded.

"I didn't assist you to the lockers today haha," Grant said.

"Yeah..." Kae replied.

"So what was that about? I normally go with you," Grant said.

"Yeah but I'm capable of going to the locker.... by myself," Kae sassed. They walked a little more and almost reached the entrance.

"Also, why did you ignore me when you came back?" Grant asked.

"Hm... well I don't have my contacts in so I can't really see that well," Kae explained.

"I sit right next to you..." Grant said. Kae just shrugged and caught up with Jeno.

"So is phase one complete?" Jeno asked as he was driving down the rode.

"Yup. Hey uh why are you wearing shades?" Kae asked.

"Someone said it looked good on me so I decided to wear it," Jeno said. Kae just gave an awkward look. After a few more minutes of driving, they finally got to their apartment.
