Looking at the ground, there is nothing but a pile of ashes. Ashes that belonged to the demon responsible for putting me through hell. I still cannot believe Asmodeus is gone. I feel so ecstatic and relieve I do not have to worry about him.
I view down to see my two hands realizing I did it. I finally gain enough control of my demonic side. I had not taken control of this new power of electricity until a few moments ago. So to feel that power, a huge one in fact led to Asmodeus’ defeat; it made me very happy.
Listening to someone moaning, I turn to see Liana trying to get up. I sprint to her. I soon help her get her back on her feet. She touches her neck after Asmodeus tried to choke her to death. She then looks to me; and she hugs me tight. Feeling her embracing me again, I wonder if she is just happy she is alive and happy to see me once again. Maybe both.
When she lets go of the hug, she then notice the slash marks on my chest.
“Oh my god!” She gasps, “What he did to you?”
I glance at the marks, and it looks like what Asmodeus tried to do was to carve something. This is my first time looking at what he did to my chest; observing the mark. It has a upside down triangle with a little diamond shape right on the lower left edge of the triangle; then a diagonal line near the two right edges up top of the upside triangle. I try to forget about it while I look back at Liana focusing on her safety.
“I’m just glad you’re safe.” I say.
“I don’t know if it changes anything.” She says.
“No matter what, you will always be my friend.” I state.
She looks at my eyes; “It’s just hard.” She says.
“Discovering your best friend is a demon is hard to understand.” I say. “Can we talk about this?”
“I need time.” She says.
She is right. I think time between us could be good. Maybe, taking days to comprehend more that I’m a demon; can we be friends again. Then all of sudden, I start to hear another moan coming from another voice. “What happened?!”
Liana and I look to our right to see it came from Desmond, who was coming to. He took a wicked hit to the wall. I’m glad he is okay. He soon gets up while picking up his wand. He then looks to me wondering what happened.
“Is it over?” He questions.
“Yeah, Asmodeus is dead.” I reply.
Demsond smiles after hearing that glorious news. “Great, ding dong the demon is finally gone.” He says feeling enthusiastic. I can share that same joy as well. However, Desmond begins to take a notice to the marks on my chest.
“Caden, what happened?” He asks looking at my marks. Liana looks back at those marks. I glance down to try to picture what these marks mean; however, I remember what Asmodeus told about the reason he wants my blood.
“The reason Asmodeus wanted me was because of my blood.” I say.
“Why?!” Liana asks baffled.
“In his terms trying to resurrect the Sovereign.” I answer her.
“Wait, him again!?” Desmond says as he remembers what Mal told us about the Sovereign.
“Who is this Sovereign?” Liana asks.
“The devil.” I reply.
“The devil, Lucifer!?” She says.
“Yeah.” I nod. Seeing her, I can see she is definitely lost in this. And I hope she understands fully, this is going to be part of my world now.
