That would be enough

"Why isn't he breathing?"

"Shhht! He is breathing. You could hear it if you would just shut up for a second!"

"Are you sure?"

Where am I? Why is everything so dark? Alex tried to remember how he ended up here but all he could think of was that everything had been spinning and then someone had called his name. Not just someone...

"Eliza!", he shouted and opened his eyes. Someone was bending over him. Someone with freckles and curly hair.

"Il est vivant!", Lafayette screeched and John jumped back.

"I told you guys", Aaron replied and crossed his arms but no one took notice of him.

"How did I get here? Where am I? What the hell happened? Why is everything hurting? Why did you think I was dead?"

All the words just poured out of Alex as if he hadn't spoken for days now. Burr, who had been standing at the other end of his bed, only shook his head as if he was the one who was hurt.

"Not so loud, we shouldn't even be here", he whispered. Alex looked around and finally realized where he was. The hospital wing. He was still in Ilvermorny and he wasn't dead.

"Aaron... you broke a rule to see me, I'm touched", he said and tried to smile at his friend. The Hornet Serpent student however didn't seem so happy about this.

"Don't be, I just came to calm Theodosia down", he replied. Alex rolled his eyes. He couldn't have been gone for long, Burr was still all the same.

"Don't worry, no one will hurt you for liking me", he joked but Aaron only frowned as if he couldn't believe this. Yep, he's still pretty weird.

"But really guys, what happened and where's Herc?", Alex asked and tried to sound as relaxed as possible. All three of his friends exchanged worried glances, making him only even more curious. Finally John spoke.

"Herc is here, he's just is watching out that no one sees us being in here. We aren't allowed in the hospital wing until we're hurt since when now?", he replied and looked at Laf for help.

"Fourth year", Burr sighed and closed his eyes. Ah, yes right. Sometimes it was hard for Alex to remember that his friends had been in Ilvermorny for five years longer than him. It feels like I've known them all my life.

"You don't remember much, do you?", John asked him quietly. Alex only shook his head. No, he only remembered Eliza's scream.

"Well, it was like this", his friend started but he was interrupted by Hercules bursting into the room.

"They're coming!", he panted and pointed at Alex. "You're not dead!"

Why does everyone think I was dead? But again, he didn't get any time to ask his questions or to get answers. The four students disappeared so quickly under one of the beds that Alex almost thought that he had just been imagining them. He thought about acting as if he was still asleep as the door opened and three people walked in. When he recognized the smallest student he just couldn't play dead anymore and jumped up.

"Eliza!", Alex shouted and almost fell back onto his bed. A big smile appeared on the girl's serious face. She ran up to him and hugged him so hard that everything went black again for a moment. But Alex didn't care. The only important thing right now was that Eliza was okay.

"Alex!", she squeaked. "I knew you would make it!"

Alex heart fluttered against his chest and he smiled at the smaller girl. Another thing he liked about Eliza. She was smaller than him.
