Thanks to OrdinaryGwen for the prompt! Keep em coming!

Virgil was perched on the windowsill again.
It was a rather favourite spot of his, he could lean against the cool glass, listen to music, watch TV, spy on random passers by, or just nap.
Unsurprisingly, Virgil chose the latter. His sleep schedule was not normal. Patton, his roommate, had been getting onto him about it.
~~~
"Virgil, I saw the light in your room at three am, don't lie."
Virgil shuffled guiltily, as the shorter male glared at him sternly.
"At least it wasn't five," he muttered jokily, but Patton sighed.
"Go take a nap."
"What? Patton, I'm not four years old, I'm-"
"You don't get a choice," said Patton firmly. "Go on, go and sleep for a few hours. I'll make dinner."
Virgil smiled, half grateful, half guilty. "Thanks Pat." "Of course, bud," Patton smiled warmly, dropping the stern demeanour. "Now hurry up, go and cram as much sleep in as you can."
~~~
When Virgil woke up, it was just past six in the evening. Patton had left a note under his door.
"We ran out of pasta! :( Don't worry, I'm running out to get more, and I'll get a few other bits too while I'm out. Don't do anything I wouldn't do :P"
Virgil grinned, and returned to the windowsill. He leaned his forehead against the glass, watching the dog walkers and the evening joggers pass his window. Virgil had given them all nicknames, since they passed by so frequently each day.
There was Miss Frills, the mad looking woman who always walked her poodle in a variety of different outfits, complete with assortments of floaty scarfs and chunky jewellery, Mr Sunshine, who always jogged past the window, sweating and scowling in his running gear, Mr and Mrs Mars Bar, and their granddaughter Candy, who always took a trip across the road to the sweet shop, and came out with a colourful paper bag full of sweets, and-
A new one.
He was youngish, about Virgil's age, with honey brown hair. He was tall, well built, with a strong jawline and muscular arms.
He was hot, Virgil had to admit.
Virgil had known he was gay for a while now, but he was yet to come out to Patton about it. He knew this was stupid, since Patton was openly gay and dating a boy called Logan, but anxiety and social awkwardness took over when they got close to the subject.
But, god, this dude was cute.
Virgil watched him stroll across the street to a video shop, where he disappeared into for a few minutes, then reappeared clutching a video game case with a picture of star in the front, and wearing a triumphant smile.
He rounded the corner and vanished from sight.
Virgil didn't move from the windowsill until Patton got home.
~~~
The next day, it was Virgil's turn to run errands. He had taken his usual trip around the grocery store, (Crofters jam, some flour, a loaf of bread, pineapple chunks and orange juice) so he wandered around the block a bit. On a spur of the moment decision, he walked into the video shop.
It was one of his favourite shops, in fact. It played good music, it was quiet, and full of other socially awkward nerds who didn't pounce on you and make you try to buy something. It was peaceful.
Virgil lingered in the shop for a few moments before a particular game caught his eye. "DarkStar" the title read, but that wasn't what caught Virgil's eye. It was the star on the front. In a bout of curiosity, he bought the game.
When he arrived back at the apartment Patton hugged him, thanked him for going out, then took the the food and shut himself in the kitchen. Virgil made a mental note to order takeaway food later. Patton was great at baking, but not so good at regular cooking. He had also taken to experimenting with various flavours which, usually, shouldn't go together.
But, cooking mishaps aside, Virgil settled in his room, put the game in and sat cross legged in the floor with his remote.
He got the gist of the game quickly, there was a villainous creature which was trying to kill you, and you could defeat it by collecting stars, which levelled you up. It was a simple enough storyline, the only problem was, Virgil was awful at it. He restarted the level at least thirty times, before eventually chucking the remote into a corner in frustration, and, in smelling the ominous burning smell from the kitchen, ordered a pizza.
~~~
Later, when the two flat mates were sitting together on the couch, Patton brought something up that made Virgil choke in his pizza.
"Hey, did you see the new guy who moved in right above us?"
Virgil looked up, swallowed his pizza too fast and started coughing, turning a flattering shade of fire engine red. Patton slapped him in the back, and brought him a glass of water, and when Virgil recovered, his voice was a notch higher than usual.
"A new guy? Nope? What's he like?"
"He seems nice," Patton said, picking up another slice of pizza. "He waved at me when I was out yesterday getting pasta, and he's directly above us. Blondish brown hair, kind of green eyes? Sure you haven't seen him?"
"Nope, must've missed him," said Virgil, the lie sticking in his throat.
"Huh," said Patton. "Well we should invite him over. Bake him cookies. Make him feel welcome."
"Sure," Virgil practically squeaked, then excused himself and scurried up to his room.
He perched back in the windowsill again, leaning against the cool glass. He shut his eyes for a few moments...
And then the doorbell rang.
Virgil whacked his head against the window, then toppled off the ledge in an undignified heap. He scrambled up, blushing furiously, every fibre of his being praying for it to be him, and yet at the same time hoping that it wasn't.
"I got it Virgil!" Patton yelled from across the hall. Virgil raked his hands through his hair, trying in vain to make it sit nicely, then he opened the door and casually sidled out of his room.
Logan was sitting in the couch beside Patton.
Virgil couldn't help but feel the slightest sense of disappointment. He hadn't exactly hoped for it to be the new guy, but it would've been nice.
But hey, Logan was a cool guy.
So the trio sat and chatted, laughing at Pattons horrific jokes and Virgil's sarky humour.
It had only been about an hour when the doorbell rang.
"Want to go get it Virge?" Patton asked, so Virgil, unwillingly, obliged.
He opened the door, expecting a sniggering eleven year old to be hiding around the corner waiting for him to poke his head out.
But instead he came face to face with a ridiculously good looking man.
A ridiculously good looking man with blondish brown hair and kind of green eyes.
Shitshitshitshitshit.
"Hi," the guy smiled apologetically. "I'm really sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you had a phone charger I could borrow? I've just moved, and I've left mine at my old place."
Virgil was frozen. He nodded, managed a crooked smile at the guy, and called out in a slightly higher than usual voice.
"Hey Patton? Guy at the door wants to borrow your charger."
Just be cool, it's fine, act normal, be chill.
"Cmon in," he muttered, waving the guy inside.
Patton poked his head around the door. He gave the new guy a cheery wave. "Hi there! I'm Patton, that's Virgil! Feel free to knock anytime and ask us whatever!" He beamed at the guy, who gave a charming, albeit slightly taken aback, smile back. "Want to entertain the guest while I make something to eat, Virgil?"
In truth, that was the last thing Virgil wanted, but it wasn't like he had a choice. So he awkwardly waved the guy into his room. Virgil took his usual spot in the windowsill, and the guy sat down in the end of Virgil's bed. He cleared his throat and held out his hand.
"I don't believe we've been formally introduced. I'm Roman."
Virgil shook his hand hesitantly. "Virgil," he replied.
The awkward silence that ensued lasted for about a minute. Roman cast his eyes around the bedroom and spotted the video game case.
"Hey, DarkStar? I love that game!" he exclaimed, making Virgil jump. "What level are you on?"
"Uh, three?" Virgil rubbed the back of his neck self consciously. "I'm not that great at it," he admitted sheepishly.
"I can show you!" Roman said excitedly. "If you don't mind, that is," he added. "No, sure, go ahead," Virgil said, the smallest of smiles twitching on his lips. Roman proceeded to sit, cross legged as Virgil had been earlier, on the floor in front of the Tv screen. He patted the carpet next to him. "Look, I'll show you," he said, as Virgil awkwardly sank down beside him. "See, if you jump then fire, the monster can't get to you in time-"
~~~
"Level thirty!"
Roman held up his hand for a high five, which Virgil, unthinkingly, slapped.
It was like an electric shock, if electric shocks made you blush.
There was a tap at the door, and Logan poked his head in.
"I'll be off then Virgil," he said, then noticed Roman sitting next to Virgil. "Ah, I didn't realise you had company, I apologise," he said, hastily retreating. "No, no, it's fine," Roman replied, standing up and dusting himself down. "I should probably get going too. Thanks for the great time Virgil."
The green eyed man stood up and unplugged his phone, then shook Virgil's hand. "We should make this a regular thing," he said, looking questioningly at Virgil, who nodded vigorously. "Yeah definitely," he agreed, with an uncharacteristic grin.
Virgil saw Roman to the door, and as he was leaving, Roman turned and muttered something so quietly that Patton and Logan, who stood nearby saying their goodbyes, couldn't hear.
"See you at the windowsill."
Nope, I'm not dead. I'm so sorry this took so long, but god school has kept me busy.
Part two of this? Maybe?
Anyway see you later
