Lost This Fight

Chapter 5: What's the hold up?

Days passed so fast. Now today was the day. The day Zach and I are going out. We decided to head to the movies. Zach and I stood in the back of the line, waiting for our turn. It's been 15 minutes and it's been pissing me off.

"Hey! What's the hold up?" I shouted to the front of the line.

Zach grabbed my hand and squeezed it tight while whispering into my ear. Everyone turned and looked at me. That's the moment I realised that Jessica was in the front of the line. She's been holding the line for 15 minutes. I was so mad that I went up to Jessica.

"Are you that stupid to not understand the schedule to the movies?" I said.

Jessica and her friends scoffed and gave me the disgusted face.

"Like you know?!" Jessica barked back.

"Watch me." I said while smiling.

I got two tickets from the counter and took Zach with me. Jessica and her friends looked at each other because they didn't know Zach and I are a thing.

Zach went to get the nachos with my favourite, cheese! He also got a large diet coke for the both of us. We took our seats at the back. To our unwanted surprise, Jessica and her crew had arrived. Luckily for us, they had the seats a couple of rows below. They saw us cuddling and gave us the disgusted looks. I giggled and laid my head on Zach's shoulder. He smiled as he reached his hands out to take a piece of the nachos. I moved my head away from his shoulders, passed him the tray of nachos and took a sip from the diet coke.

After the movie, Zach drove me home. He walked me up to my door step. I reached out for the key in my pocket but Zach stopped me, pulled me closer and gave me a kiss. I wrapped my arms around him and felt his muscular body against mine. Suddenly, my front door swung open, there standing was Adam.

"Ew, get a room next time."

We moved apart and looked at my brother. All of us laughed for a while. It was then silent, I gave Zach a hug and a kiss on the lips.

"Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Goodnight. I love you." Zach replied.

"Bye dude!" Adam said.

We waved at each other before I closed the door.

"How was the movie?" Adam asked.

"The movie was great but seeing Jessica and her 'crew' wasn't." I shrugged.

I went up to my room, got ready for bed. I jumped onto bed and stared up at the ceiling. Zach is so amazing. I never knew this year was going to be different. I turned on my Spotify and played 'Strings' by Shawn Mendes. I tapped my fingers to the beat of the song.

School continued as usual for weeks. It was then the last day of the term. We had 2 weeks of holiday before the 2nd term starts. We counted down to the very last minute of school. Once the bell rang, everyone rushed out, said goodbye to their friends and were on their way to their holiday destinations.

I turned around to face Zoey, Zach, Leo and Adam. We were technically in a circle. I said my goodbyes and hugged Zoey and Leo and kissed Zach.
"So, are you guys going anywhere for the holidays?" Adam questioned.

"Not that I know of." Zoey scoffed.

"Not quite sure, I might go to New York with my parents." Zach smiled.

"What about you Leo?"

"Oh, um.. my dad's not coming home for the holidays so I guess my mom will be taking us to Hawaii to visit my dad." Leo said sadly.
