Onism- the awareness of how little of the world you'll experience

Anne didn't mean to approach the strange man in the yard, she really didn't, but the object he held in his hand had peaked her interest. As she walked the path down Green Gables, she noticed that the man was fully engrossed in what he was doing. She paused for a minute or two, watching him fiddle with buttons and mumble under his breath.
"Good day, sir!" the bright and bubbly girl exclaimed suddenly to the man, who startled and turned around looking very flustered, turning into a shade almost as red as the apples in Gil-everyone's orchards.
"Good day to you too- I'm sorry- I- the cherry blossom tree looked very beautiful, with it being in full bloom against the sunlight. There was something rather magical about it. I'm Simon, Simon Smith." he stuttered nervously, running a hand through his jet black hair.
"It is a gracious pleasure to be of your acquaintance Mr.Simon Smith! I absolutely adore your name, it is ever so divine, having a first and last name that start with the same letter. I'm Anne, Anne Shirley Cuthbert, and please make sure to say Anne with an e! I think it is much more delightful than plain old boring Ann. I came down here because I saw an absolutely exquisite and mysterious object in your hand that I just had to see myself. What is it exactly?"
"Oh this? It is called a camera. To put it simply, it captures the beauty of things, and makes it last forever, in a photograph" Simon exclaimed, passion shimmering in his deep blue ocean eyes.
"Oh my! I have ever so many questions about how this camera works! To start off, I would like to commend the person who created such a wonderful contraption. Although I do believe that my knowledge of the world is quite broad, I find it lacking sometimes, as there are so many things out there that I have never seen, and may never see. Although that is quite a depressing thought, I remember to be grateful of what I do have, and I am ever so grateful for so many things in my life. Avonlea and Green Gables have changed my life, and I have accepted it with open arms and I do find ever so many things exquisite here. There is the Lake of Shining Waters, The Way of White Delight, as well as so many more beautiful places. Although I do expect that Gil-other people in school have seen much more than I have, I am quite grateful for the things I have seen, and hopefully the things I will see in the future" the girl rambled on.
The man smiled at the child's antics, thinking that she did have a way with words, and he had never seen a child, nonetheless a girl, talk as much as she did, and never as fast.
Anne Shirley caught onto the man's thoughts, although she took them the wrong way-mistaking the man's smile to be a mocking one.
Just when she thought she had met an adult who would understand her, he had smiled like her words were a joke. Fury bubbled up inside of her, and she seemed to overtake the air of anger that redheads were known for.
"Excuse me for my words- but I will not be mocked. I am not a little rag you can toss around, doing whatever you please. I am told I talk quite a lot, and if you don't appreciate that please leave me alone, as well as my cherry blossoms" Anne yelled. And with that she stormed away, arms crossed against her chest, nose high in the air, flaming red hair swinging behind her. She was a force to be reckoned with, a storm of red in a world of green.
The man looked at her storming away dumbfounded, and shook his head.
