17 And the Wooing Begins

The days that followed the meaningful and momentous Sunday made RJ more valiant and bold when it comes to pursuing Nicki. Since they were already used to exchanging calls and messages, he realized the need to up his game. He wanted to do more than what he was already doing as a friend. He wanted to better what he's been doing before. And since he already made his real intentions known to Nicki, he thought of various ways and different romantic ideas that will surely sweep Nicki off her feet. He knew he had competition by the name of Joaquin. And though Nicki has already made it clear to him that Joaquin was just a friend, it wouldn't change the fact that they were both on the same page. They are both pursuing Nicki. So he still can't be too complacent. Hindi siya pwedeng magpatalo. Hindi pwedeng magpadaig kay Joaquin. Therefore, he really made an effort to win her heart. Everyday meron siyang pakulo. The entire week was full of surprises for Nicki.

On Monday, instead of his usual wake up call to Nicki, he decided to wake her up differently. At exactly 7am that Monday, Nicki's phone was already ringing. She scrambled to reach for it on her bedside table as she wondered why it was the alarm clock tone she's hearing instead of the ringtone she specifically assigned for RJ. She thought she might have just missed his wake up call but to her surprise, there were no missed calls from RJ. She was even more puzzled when there were no messages either.

Sabi last night, he'll surely wake me up
by 7 in the morning so I could prep and
eat breakfast before ko imeet si Sheens.
Ano nangyari dun?! Baka nalate ng
gising at nagmamadali na mag-ayos para
di malate sa class kaya nakalimutan na
niya. Hmpf! Buti na lang pala nag-alarm
pa din ako kundi baka late din ako.

She decided to let it go and not dwell on the fact that he might've really forgotten to wake her up anymore. Instead, she went on with her morning prayer then rose from the bed to prepare for the day.

Thirty minutes after she awoke, she was already done fixing herself. Just like any other Monday, she dressed casually and put some light make up on before she headed towards her kitchen. She was looking at her phone on her way, contemplating whether to send him a message just to check up on him or not. She hate to admit it but she was beginning to be worried when she still didn't hear anything from him after she's glamed up.

Wag na lang, Nicki! Kung nakalimutan
ka gisingin eh di nakalimutan! Hmpf!
Ano ba yan, RJ? Minus pogi points ka dun ha?
1st day ng panliligaw, sablay agad. Tsktsktsk!

Little did she know, he woke up extra early so he could prepare a simple breakfast and personally deliver it right into her doorstep. She just stepped into her kitchen when the phone in her hand vibrates. She looked at her screen and her brows furrowed as she answered the call.

Rise up and shine, Nicki!
He cheerfully greeted on the
line as he pressed her doorbell.

**Dingdong**

I'm already awake...
She coldly replied as she
walked to her door.

**Dingdong**
He pressed the doorbell again.

That's good! Nagbreakfast ka na po?
He asked, intentionally ignoring her
tone of voice as she answered him.

**Dingdong**
He pressed the doorbell for the third time. He heard her heavy sigh on the other line as she shouted.

Andyan na! Sandali!

Ha? What's happening?
