When I woke up the next morning, I remembered last night's events. I got out the bed and dragged myself out my room and into the hall. I opened the door to the guest room and Vic wasn't in there. I remembered that he did come last night and stayed. Maybe he left early this morning or something.
I went back to my room and showered before getting ready for school. I put my beanie on and grabbed my backpack and went out the door. I walked downstairs to the kitchen to get breakfast. I stopped in the hall that lead to the kitchen when I saw who was in it.
"What are you doing?" I asked him when I walked in.
"Eating. What does it look like?" He rolled his eyes and went back to eating the pancakes on his plate.
"I'm going to school." I didn't feel like eating anymore.
"Okay? Why are you telling me?" He smirked and stuffed his mouth.
"I need to lock the door. You don't have a key so get out." I commanded.
He didn't budge. I stood waiting for him to finish his pancakes. He stood up slowly and put the plate in the sink and walked towards me. He got in front of me and gave me his devious smile as he pushed me.
"Why are you trying to get rid of me so bad? Huh?" He pushed me again.
"I-I have to go to school. Yo-you don't have a key." I explained.
"There's that fear I like to see. I'm leaving." He went upstairs and came down with his backpack.
When he walked out the house I followed and took my key and locked the door. I started walking the way to school and he walked the opposite way. I was going to say something but I didn't want him to do anything to me.
When I made it to school I was surprised to see Vic was at school already. He was crowded up with Mike, Tony, and Jaime. They all stared at me as I passed by them to the schools entrance. I went to my locker and got my things and began to sit on the stairs and read.
"Hey." A cheery voice said as they sat next to me.
"What do you want?" I asked, I was highly annoyed.
"Nothing. What are you reading?" He leaned forward to look under the book. I held it up so he could get a better look. "The secret window/secret garden. What's it about?"
"Why don't you read it?" I snapped back.
"I don't like to read. What's your problem?" I looked up at his annoyed face.
"I don't like talking to people, but you keep talking to me." I stated angrily. I closed the book and stood up and started down the stairs.
"Hey, don't get mad. I just don't have anyone else I can talk to." He replied. I felt bad but ignored it.
"Make some friends."
"I thought you were my friend." He stopped in his tracks. I turned around and faced him.
"I have no friends. And I like it that way." I bluntly stated as I went back along the stairs to my first class.
I went to history and really wasn't bothered by the fact that I wasn't listening. I actually didn't mind, I didn't want to listen. I took out my notebook and began writing at first a song. I liked to write songs better, it was just something that always calmed me down.
"Now class." Mrs. Roberts tried to get everyone's attention. "Now as we all know Thanksgiving is coming up. We will be learning about what the history of Native Americans and Spaniards, or Pilgrims, who came to America."
The class groaned loudly. She waved her hands over the crowd to shush them.
"Now we will have an assignment where you will write an essay, telling what you are thankful for. There will be a bonus for those who want it. You must write a 1000 essay over what happened between the Native Americans and Pilgrims."
