The vein prodded the fallen body of the basilisk lord with impatience as it slowly came to the realization that it was dead for some time now, the blood that kept pumping throughout the body was long gone now, though demon lords usually rebuild their bodies in less than a two hours. It was clearly dead for longer than that by the state of it.

The still creature lay in a pool of poison, the blood of demons, the most potent poisonous potion no one could find anywhere else but it was extremely difficult to gather for even the lowest ranked demon is a formidable opponent. Few could battle a demon and live to tell the tale.

The vein jerked back into the shadows once it felt the vibration of footsteps, the sound it knows exactly who it belongs to.

But it can't show itself yet, not when it's body is still weak from the binding spell.

It would bid its time. It has for more than a millennium, but when it strikes, and it will strike, it would hit all the races with more power than they could ever gather in their pitifully short lives.

"How do you know if you could kidnap a high ranked mage for the summoning? They can be easily killed but harder to bring back alive. Due to their competitive nature, it's nearly impossible for one to agree to summon the Great Demon King," the first voice growled in impatience and the vein would have raised a brow in surprise if it had a brow to raise, it hadn't heard the noise of that voice until it opened its mouth to speak, it must be either an extremely high ranked assassin or a light footed creature.

"Do you really underestimate me that much, cat? I have a few tricks up my sleeve that even you do not know of. Tell me, what are the mages' greatest weaknesses?" The male countered.

Ah, that's the demon the vein recognized.

If the vein could frown, it would be frowning at this exact moment since he didn't quite follow what the two were leading at, capturing a mage? Are his descendants out of their minds?
At least, it now knows the other voice was a cat, that made sense, since cats were known to be silent in their steps. It must be a magical creature for it to talk though.
The vein thinks it has an inkling of who the cat was, for there were not many who the current demon king trusted.

". . . ah, I never knew your majesty would stoop so low as to do that," the cat had amusement laced into its sly voice.

"We may be demons, and that idea may not be to your liking but no matter what humanity has deemed us, we are not dirty minded lying cheaters, do you understand?"

The vein watched as the far end of the bushes rustled and were brushed away to reveal and black furred, golden eyed cat with the tall, imposing demon king any races across the land knows and fears.

Now, the vein was glad he made the idiotic little girl lose control of itself a while back because the two companions' expressions were so hilarious that it is worried the girl might even lose her respect for them.

The demon king was in a state of petrified shock as he stared at one of his kin, the basilisk lord no less killed in such a brutal manner it remained dead inside the demon territory, his territory.
Meanwhile, the cat wasn't as surprised as its partner for although it could be considered a demon, it wasn't a demon king who, despite all the rumors of being heartless, still cared for his subjects.

"Killed by light magic," the cat murmured as it bent over the fallen body in quiet inspection, eyes narrowing at the gaping wound shining with holy light, the only magic with the ability to slay a demon, which was also rare among the other species, light magic only grants its power to a mage every few decades which might not seem a lot but there were only a few scattered around the realm.
