The entire room went silent as they watched the exchange, the tall light brown haired man slowly made his way to the stunned brunette who couldn't take her eyes from his frame, no words exited her mouth after that but none were needed, he knew that she wanted to scream at him and hit him for having cheated and taken another woman on the trip but at the same time she wanted to wrap herself around him like a koala and never let go of him again, he knew her like that, he knew her better than that, but in the span of 5 years she could have changed more than what he knew.
"It's really me." he said slowly as he finally stood in front of her, her eyes darting all over his frame stopping longer on his eyes and then on his lips, before darting back to his eyes, she slowly raised her hand to touch him, to make sure he was real but the fear and doubt that she was once more dreaming about him, seeing him without him actually being there, was greater causing her to hesitate tremendously. Sensing her distress the castaway survivor grabbed her wrist gently and guided her hand to his chest, placing it above his heart so she could feel his, now faster, heart beat, a chocked sob escaped her lips as she felt the warmth of his body envelope her cold hand, as she felt his fast heart beat against her hand, pulsing through her hand and making her own heart race.
He was finally there, he wasn't a figment of her imagination, nor a ghost from her past, he was flesh and blood, standing in front of her, holding her wrist and peering down at her. Warm tears escaped her eyes and rolled down her slightly naturally tanned cheeks, glistening against the light, without thinking about anything else she leaned forward and smashed her lips against his, her cold, soft and lip balm cover ones against his warm, rough and chapped ones, almost like ice kissing fire, her left hand still resting over his heart and his right hand holding it in place, her right one on his neck pulling him close, while his left one attached itself to her waist.
Like magnets, almost as if the past 5 years and the cheating scandal didn't happen, like a puzzle completing itself, which in the end, was what they were, two different puzzles that first perfectly. No one in the room was expecting any reaction other the one they were watching, the foursome knew the duo like the back of their hands, how they worked and acted, spoked and thought when together, but then like lightning had struck her, Elizabeth pulled back letting go of Oliver completely and swung her right hand faster than an arrow and struck him across the face, her left hand forcing itself to let go of the tall man's warmth as she growled at him "You cheating, lying, fucking son of a bitch!"
The shock that had once clouded her mind was thrown to the back of her mind as anger replaced it, raw and uncontrollable anger, Oliver Queen's head flew to the side from whence she struck him, but was now back to facing her, he anticipated her moves but knew better than to stop them, for when Elizabeth Wayne is on a mission, she only was one side of the switch, and that was on. Elizabeth quickly whirled around and fast walked to her bedroom, which so happened to be in front of Oliver's old room, locking the door behind her.
Back in the dinning room, Moira Queen stared at her son and said "She needs time, she like all of us thought you dead. And with everything in her life, you coming back is the cherry at the top of the cake." Oliver nodded and sent his mother a tight smile before walking back to his seat, his left cheek was flaming hot and he was sure that it was red but he made no mention of it. "Okay... What else did you miss? Super Bowl winners: Giants, Steelers, Saints, Peckers, Giants again. Black president, that's new. Oh, and Lost, they were all dead." Tommy said trying to get his best friend's attention of his previous 6 year old, Oliver nodded with a small smile as he watched his father's best friend pour his mother some wince, quickly seeing the connection the two have when his mother sent him a small loving smile.
"I think." Tommy quickly added before Thea asked "What was it like there?" once again, everyone stopped, their eyes glued on him, awaiting him to answer his younger sister's question, eager to know the answer too. Oliver looked at his sister and said shortly "Cold." indeed it had been cold, for many reasons, the weather, no actual home, no proper clothing or something to cover him at night, but Thea took the answer to the sense that he didn't have Elizabeth with him, before the accident, whenever Thea would ask her older brother how things were, or how he felt, with or without Elizabeth near, he would always start the answer with either good or cold, good was when she was in the same building or even in the same room and cold was when she wasn't in either those locations.
"Tomorrow, you and me do the city. You've got a lot to catch up on." Tommy stated, "That sounds like a great idea." Moira says as she looks at her son lovingly, "Good, I was hoping to swing by the office." Oliver smiled as his mother, Walter, his father's best friend stopped mid-action as he was about to take a sip of wine while Moira hummed in content but quickly set his cup down and said "There's plenty of time for all that. Queen Consolidated isn't going anywhere." Oliver gave him a tight smile as Raisa, one of the Manor's maids tripped on the carpet and was about to fall on Oliver, dropping the bowl of fruit she was carrying,
But returned son caught the bowl in faster the light speed, "I'm so sorry Mr. Oliver." she said in her heavy Russian accent, the tall light brunette man answered in Russian leaving everyone at the table speechless, "Dude, you speak Russian?" his best friend chuckled while Walter commented, "Didn't know you took Russian at college Oliver." his British accent slipping into his words. "I didn't realize that you wanted to sleep with my mother, Walter." Oliver contradicted without missing a beat, for the third time that evening the table fell silent and Moira's eyes fell to her only daughter "I didn't say anything." she scoffed leaning back on her chair and looking at her lap.
"She didn't have to." Oliver said in a simple tone, Moira nodded solemnly before reaching for her partner's hand and saying "Oliver, Walter and I are married and I don't want you to think that either one of us did anything to disrespect your father." "We both believed that Robert, like you, uh... well, gone." Walter tried to explain but was shot down by Oliver saying, "It's fine." a short moment of silence followed before he stood up and asked "May I be excused?" Moira nodded and the eldest Queen stood up, grabbed a fruit and began walking to the door, winking at his sister and patting his best friend on the shoulder before making his way to his bedroom, stopping in between his door and Elizabeth's.
