I still haven't met Opie. I heard he was doing the fireworks at the fundraiser coming up today. Evelyn told me about it, how they raised money for the school districts.
"Maybe we can go? You can meet your brother and maybe your Dad?" Evelyn asked, I explained the basics of my Father to her, not too much though.
"Yeah, maybe." I paused looking around my table. "Where the hell did I put it? I can't find my necklace."
"Well when did you see it last?"
"Uh, a day ago."
"Well it wasn't here when you left for work yesterday..." Why did she know that off the top of her head? "Harley, you need to get out of your house." Evelyn paused and smiled at me, has she always been this pale? I thought she was tan. "Whatever, you and Jax got in an argument. Don't let him ruin this whole town for you." Evelyn spoke with that same smile, so I rolled my eyes, but mid eye roll I couldn't help but notice how skinny she looked. "Besides I don't want to go alone."
"The only good things in this town are you and Gunner." I spoke as Gunner laid on my bed with me. Gunner's slowly opened up more to Evelyn and I. He's really protective but he's learning. He's a good dog, his leg has healed almost all the way but we're keeping a cast on it for good measure.
"And Juice... He's a good fuck." Evelyn spoke with that same smile on her face she got any time she talked about him, or well any guy for that matter.
"Gross."
"What? Like you can't talk. You fucked Mc dreamy." I rolled my eyes at her words. "Real question is, who am I gonna fuck next?" Evelyn asked with a smirk so I just closed my eyes.
She sounds like the girls I used to avoid.... but she's Evelyn. She's been a real good friend of mine since I moved here. Well a few days after I moved here. She's helped out a shit ton with Gunner.
She's a good person.
"Sorry." Evelyn mumbled making me look at her confused. "I know you don't like that kind of talk or aren't used to it. I just get carried away sometimes... It's mostly joking."
I rolled my eyes, a small smile appearing on my face as I turned on my TV. "It's all good." I turned on Cartoons. A 25 year old and a 26 year old watching cartoons. Damn. People really never do grow up.
"So, what are we gonna do for your 26th? It's coming up right?"
"I stopped celebrating birthdays when I turned 7." I spoke in annoyance. "Happy didn't even know my birthday till I turned 23 and he finally asked."
"Well, lets go to the fundraiser? We can look cute."
I rolled my eyes. "Do I really have to? Hell Evelyn, I never even wear Makeup."
"Why?"
I looked off. "Well I... I uh never really learned how so I just didn't do it." I learned how to use coverup to cover bruises, that was it.
"Well let me show you, we can look hot, then go in the Camaro." Evelyn spoke, and like she pulled it out of her ass, her makeup bag appeared. "Pleeeeeeeeaaaase Harley?"
"I know I'm gonna regret agreeing."
Gunner whined as Evelyn let out a scream of excitement.

As I stepped out of the Camaro I let out a small moan of annoyance. "Can I go back home?" I asked as I stumbled forward in my high heel combat boots.
"No, Gunner is locked up and you look too good to go back home." Evelyn spoke running over to me, she was wearing ruby red strap on high heels and walked like she wore them every day. "You look smokin'!" She winked at me as I looked down.
