"How and why would you even do that?! Where would you find the time?!" I say, with a blind anger.
"Well, to explain that in a way for a simple human to understand," ,She still isn't being nice to me, "I would need to explain how moves work generally. I'll use the move solarbeam as an example.", she uses her free hand to point out the window, at the sun. It was a little after noon, the sun was setting behind a couple of buildings, "In every mon' is a certain amount of energy, each move that a mon' uses consumes a certain amount of that energy."
"Uhh, you mean like, kicking a tree with only a certain amount of apples? And the power of the kick decides how many apples would fall?"
The world stood still for a moment... Autumn's rage at the time could be felt and seen, in the single bead of sweat that ran down the length of her head. This drop of sweat paused on her cheek, one would think it stopped only to say, "A hundred brain cells just died, listening to your asinine comment."
Autumn, despite the swelling cyst of anger on her heart, she accepted that there is an adequate similarity between the two scenarios. After a brief silence that spanned a minute, twice the amount of time it took the bead of sweat to fall from her chin and onto the bed, she continued as if I had never interrupted.
"So it only makes sense, that if you focus more energy into a move, just like putting more sugar into tea then you usually do, makes it sweeter."
"I guess you could say it that way."
"However...", she stops healing me and moves over to a drawer, opening it, she pulls out a blue berry, "...over-shooting a move will make the mass of energy too great, and if it becomes too unstable for you, it could explode in your face. Or if its agitated, like when you made that aggron close his mouth at the last minute. When it gets to that point, you take more damage then the enemy!"
She gives me the berry, and instinct told me to eat it. As I nibbled it, she parted from that topic to touch base with my condition,
"Your minor injuries are healed, but heal pulse doesnt heal bone in one go. Your arm will take some time to heal completely. That fruit your eating is and oran berry, it'll help you heal over time, but for now that bone is useless. Even after you come back to get this cast removed, you should still be careful.", she lets off a long sigh and walks over to the window, she seems troubled, "I hope what I'm saying will stick with you, nowadays, you actually have to think, even while fighting." she says while I finish the berry, "People who 'wing it', end up dead."
A chill ran down my spine, and I look up at her,
"Understand, often times when you lose your composure and throw blind attacks is when you're most vulnerable."
The sunlight shines through the window, catching her in it's light as she looks out the window. Something she said triggers my memory.
I thought to myself,
"Keep my composure? Isn't that exactly what Solyk didn't want me to do?"
