Lament, hand under his chin and eyes closed, recollects a time before he was part of the guild. In secluded part of the forest off the East of Shimmermist. The trees seemed to part, making a clearing, decorated with and recently extinguish campfire, small beds made of dead leaves and grass, around them, the ground was dirty with apple cores and coconuts. Lament stood in front of one of the tall trees. With this one, he had many clashes. So many in fact, that the tree had a black gash in the trunk, from taking numerous fire-punches. Lament clenched his fist, took a step back, and with one more punch made the gash a bit bigger, small splinters of wood fell off and gathered on the ground with the others. However, it seems he put too much,"omph", in this one. This is also obvious to Solyk, as he arrives in the clearing, with an arm full of apples, his other hand baring small package wrapped in paper, and his hand-tail holding two coconuts. Through your eyes; Lament, now sitting and clutching his hand which aches from the feedback of his own attack, would look pathetic. However, to the eccentric Solyk, he was adorable. Slowly shaking his head and placing the fruits down, he coos at Lament.
"Yoohoo!Lammy~! Time time to take a breeeeaaaaaak~!" The boy, still bothered by the mild pain, gets up and walks over to his beckoning purple primate pal, dragging his tail.
"The tree hurt my hand..." he whines as he raises his bruised hand, "I don't like that tree. He has problems." He says very dryly, while glaring at the tree over his shoulder. It was if him and the tree having a stare down. Lament knew he had no chance of defeating that intimidating, indifferent, powerhouse of a tree that has been tanking all his attacks like a professional. Like all the trees, it towered over both of them. Solyk saw this as a moment to teach Lament, and took this chance.
"Lament."
"Yeah?"
"Are you mad?"
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Because that tree is evil." he says plainly,
"Why do you think he's evil?"
"Cause he hurt me!"
"Lament?"
"Yeah?"
"Did you hit him first?" Solyk says tilting his head,
"Yeah."
"So are you aware that him hurting you was because you hit him, and that he only responded the way anyone would?"
"...Yeah."
"So then shouldn't you be angry..." Solyk points accusingly at Lament,as if he were an attorney in court, "at YOURSELF!!!"
"Ab... I. Well..." Lament stammered
"Before you have a seizure. The correct answer is no."
"No? Wait. What? Now I'm confused!" As Lament tries to regain his peace of mind, Solyk turns around, with his hands behind his back. He was about to state, his philosophy.
"You shouldn't get mad at yourself, because you were only reacting the way you were made to. But you also can't get mad at the tree for defending itself."
"Why?"
Solyk's voice takes a deep tone. He breathes out heavily only once. He turns his head showing a smile and half-closed eyes.
"Because your both awake and alive."
