This one is a filler you can skip it if you want
It had been a week since the meeting my mind has been clouded more than ever, I still went to work and hung out with my friends like I normally do, but whenever I went outside I always looked around to make sure no one was following me. My guard was up all week, knowing that someone from the government might know about the plan and I'd end up where Aido and Shinji are.
It was already closing time in the convenience store, and Uncle Momuro wasn't around cause he had to go out to pay the electricity bill for the store, so he put me in charge of closing up. Now normally I'm not good with being by myself at night when anyone can come in and kill me, but when it came to MY uncle if he tells you to do something there is no saying 'no'. I had already turned off the open sign and locked the cash register, so all that was left for me to do is clean up, take out the trash, and lock the place.
I was in the process of taking out the trash when I felt someone's gaze follow me, I turned around to see who it was but just as I did I barely caught someone running off. I looked around to see if anyone else was staring at me, I threw the trash bag into the dumpster and ran at an inhuman speed back to the store.
Once I was done cleaning, I started locking every door in the store as I was making my way out ready to lock the front door, I looked out the window if what was previously there was still out there and wanted to get me, once I was sure no one was looking at me I walked outside to lock the door.
Suddenly I hear someone behind me yell "BOO!" causing me to jump as I turned around to see Hisao laughing his ass off. "Man, you're so easy, you always have me wondering how did you manage to gather up the courage to promise to expose the government," he said as he doubled over while laughing.
I rolled my eyes, "I did it without thinking, okay?" I said as he continued to laugh.
"Anyway just wanted to remind you about tomorrow" he responded.
I looked at him with a look of confusion "what do you mean?" I asked.
He facepalmed and shook his head "you forgot, didn't you" he said, "tomorrow is the summer festival, and you're going", that when I remembered about the summer festival and internally slapped myself.
I didn't want to go cause there was too much on my mind and didn't feel like going but the main reason I didn't want to go was cause I knew there would be too many people, I knew that if I told him that he'd probably tell me to go and drag me there, so I simply answered "I don't know, I might be working that day" I said while scratching my head knowing how obvious it was.
Hisao crossed his arms "really? You'd be working on the day of a cultural celebration, the only existing tradition that dates past the chaos years?" I tried to look for something to say.
"Well it's gonna be an event so people are gonna buy a lot of stuff," I said.
"Kurai, I know you're just lying to get out of it, listen, I know that from everything that's happening lately you probably have a lot to process, but just because doing this doesn't mean we can't enjoy ourselves," he said.
I looked away for a while then sighed "I guess the festival is that night and the store would probably be closed by then" I responded.
Hisao sighed in relief "thank god, I thought I'd have to drag you there like I always do" he said, "well-gotta bounce before my mother gets mad at me, later shut-in" he said running off.
After that I sighed before stuffing the key back in my pocket, as I continued walking I felt someone staring at me from afar I turned around to see who it was once I saw that there was no one there I turned back around.
