Dream Girl: The last moments (2018)

Chapter 4: Mi-Chan's flashback

  [March 25th, 2018. Mi-Chan age, 13]

It was the end of the day while I was getting ready to go to bed when I heard water boiling from the kitchen. I was thinking Macy's cooking herself some dinner for her and Chase. But it turns out, she's holding the pot filled with boiling water while walking towards the bathroom, where I was to brush my teeth.

After brushing my teeth, Macy stands behind me with the pot on her hand. I stood behind the sink looking directly at her while asking.

"Uh, Macy. Why do you have a pot on your hand?"

"Actually Mi-Chan, this is for you." She toss the boiling water all over my face. However, the water wasn't hot enough to cause bad enough damage.

I screamed, "MY FACE!" I continue to scream.

She continues to laugh at me while I stand up and run the cold water, even though my eyes were closed. She's still laughing at me while trying to relieve the burn on my face. The somewhat boiling water didn't get my eyes which is a good thing because I would've lost my eyesight because of that. After a few minutes, I decide to look in the mirror to look to see how bad the burn looks. It's not blistering. Instead it's just bight red.

I gasped for the look I have. I rush to my room crying to call for help. She stopped laughing after I left the bathroom. I dial '911' and wait for an operator to anwser the call. I lock my room door in case she or Chase try to come in.

An operator answered, "911 what's your emergency?"

I begin to yell, "PLEASE! HELP ME! I NEED AN AMBULANCE! MY FACE IS BURNING!"

"Can you tell me what happen?"

"My step-mom threw boiling water at my face. Now it's really red."

"Did you use cold water?"

I begin yelling in distress, "YES I DID!"

"Okay, just remain calm while the ambulance is on their way. Where are you right now?"

"I'm locking myself in my room so she doesn't come in."

"Okay, just stay in there. You're doing just fine. What's your name?"

"Mi Fugikawa."

"Oh, that's a pretty name. How old are you?"

"13"

"Oh, I see. How long has she been abusing you?"

"I was two years old at the time when it first happened."

"Oh gosh, that's a long time since she's been treating you like that."

"Y-yeah."

The operator smiled, "Aww, are you shy? I just like asking you some questions, it's part of my job."

"Ye-yes I am."

"Aww it's okay. The police will be here shortly okay?"

"O-okay."

"You'll be okay, can you handle me asking you more questions?"

"I guess."

"Okay, what school do you go to?"

"Sweetheart Middle School."

"Oh I remember going to school there. Do you like being in school?"

"Ah-ha."

"That's good."

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Anything."

"What's your name?"

"My name? My name's Candle Heart. I've been working as a 911 operator for fifteen years."

"Oh. Wow."

"I know right. It's been a long time huh?"

"Yeah."

I hear a knock on the door, it's the doctor who's going to check on me. Candle says goodbye to me before I said goodbye and hang up the call. After hanging up I unlock the door.

"Come in." I sat on the floor while the doctor enters my room with a emergency kit.

The ambulance was in front of the house in case I need to visit the hospital. He precedes to look at my face to check for blisters. He looks at my ear with a lighting tool to see how bad it is.

"Well. Your face is pretty bad. I'm afraid you'll have to be admitted to the hospital."

The doctor named, Doctor Heal, is known for saving fifthy patients in less than a week which is not something a doctor can accomplish.

He asked, "Oh I should mention this. Is there anything you want to bring with you for the night?"

I grab my stuffed dog, Halo, my phone and charger, and a blanket in case I get I get cold. Fortunately I have some warm, cozy socks on to keep my feet warm. Another doctor, Doctor Fox, comes in to help carry my stuff. He also grab my slippers just in case I didn't really need it even since I'll be fine without them. I let him carry them anyways since I'm going to need shoes just in case I'm walking home. Doctor Heal picks me up when we all left the bedroom.

After leaving my step-parent's house, the police car that was there left the house before us. As we got in the ambulance and Doctor Heal puts me down on the bed, the driver hits the gas pedal and leaves the neighborhood.

Five minutes later when we arrive at Sugar Sweet Hospital, Doctor Heal carry me to the hospital bed inside. It's so cold inside the hospital, I was glad I bought a blanket with me. I start shivering and chattering.

Doctor Heal notice me, "Aww are you cold?"

I shivered, "Brrr, it's so c-c-cold."

He ask Doctor Fox, "Hey Doctor Fox. Can you give her a blanket? She's cold."

"Yeah, lemme get it out for her."

He lays the blanket on me when I immediately stop shivering. My blankets are so warm, I would bring it with me to school everyday in case it gets freezing inside. I also bring one for Gina so she can stay warm inside. I'm always cold but I don't know why. Maybe it's because I get stressed out when something bad happens.

After being put down on the hospital bed, Gina runs to me.

"Mi-Chan!"

I've never seen her this scared.

Heaven asked the desk lady, "Where's Mi-Chan?!" She points to the room I'm in.

He runs in, "Mi-Chan!"

Mister Love looks around before noticing me and ran towards the room.

He got on his knees, "MI-CHAN! ARE YOU OKAY?! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!"

Gina and Heaven calls my name repeatedly before Doctor Heal walks in with a cold towel to put on my face.

Heaven looks at him, "DOCTOR, IS SHE GOING TO BE OKAY? WHAT HAPPEN TO HER?"

"Well, let me tell you what happened. Her step-mom threw boiling water at her and got laughed at afterwards. At least that's what I heard. But the good news is, because she washed off her face with cold water, she only suffers from first-degree burns. Don't worry, she's expecting to be released tomorrow since the burn isn't serious."

Mister Love looks at me for a bit before getting up and hugging him, "Thank you doctor."

He hugs him back, "No problem. Have a good night everyone." Both stopped hugging each other before Doctor Heal leaves the room.

Before everyone else leaving my hospital room, they all said their goodnights to me while Mister Love kiss me goodnight when one by one leaves the room.
