"Diana!" Anne squealed throwing her arms around the girl

"Oh I am thrilled that you are well it would be positively horrific to lose my best bosom friend to something as unromantic as a cold" Anne said dramatically.

"Oh Anne" Diana said with a small laugh "I am well, now come in we can have tea" She said excitedly pulling Anne inside. Anne sat down at the table and Diana went to fetch the tea. Anne sat admiring the beautiful lace on the tablecloth and the bewitchingly divine crystals on the chandelier hanging from the tall ceiling. After all the Barrys were one of the better off family's in Avonlea. Diana came back pouring tea for the both of them and handing a biscuit to Anne.

"So what happened while I was gone?" Diana said curiously sipping her tea.
"well" Anne began "We will be doing something different with spelling on Monday" Anne said quietly.

"Whatever do you mean Anne" Diana asked.
"Oh Diana it is positively mortifying I have to complete against Gilbert Blythe! I have to beat him this time, I have to!" Anne said dramatically.

"I'm sure you will" Diana said rolling her eyes at how dramatic her best friend could be.

"Oh And I wanted to ask you about something Diana"

"What?" Diana responded curious on what was bothering the girl.

"Well yesterday Gilbert Blythe walked me home and I felt a feeling in my stomach" Anne said nervously. Anne watched as a smirk crept up on Diana lips.
"A fluttery feeling?" Diana said now grinning.

"Yes I suppose, oh my dear bosom friend it could possibly mean I have befallen deathly ill and will be on my deathbed by dawn" The redhead said quickly.

"Oh my dear Anne, a fluttery feeling are butterflies they could mean you like that person" Diana said.

"Diana!" Anne practically yelled "There is no possible way I could like Gilbert Blythe anyway Ruby has dibs" Anne paused "Wait Have you felt it before?"

"I suppose so" Diana said after pausing to think about it.

"Diana you must tell me who!" Anne said excitedly.

"Charlie Sloane" Diana replied completely unfazed at all.
"Diana that is so romantical you and Charlie would be divine!" Anne squealed.

"And you know that Charlie and Gilbert are best friends right" Diana said winking.

"I have to go" Anne said rushingly "I need to study so I can beat Gil-...I-I mean go help Marilla around the house" Anne grabbed her coat quickly walking to the door.
She turned around and gave Diana a quick hug.
"See you on monday" Anne said turning back around taking the steps two at a time.

Diana simply just chuckled at her figure heading towards the woods
"How can one be so oblivious" she muttered to herself closing the door.

Anne greeted matthew out by the barn and walked inside Green Gables her beloved home.

Once she put her things away she went up to her lovely Gabel bedroom with the cherry blossom tree right outside the window. She plopped down on her bed sighing at the ceiling.

"No matter what everyone says I positively do NOT like Gilbert Blythe he is a: Cruel, evil, handsome.."

"UGH" Anne said sitting straight up in her bed.

"why do feelings have to be so excruciatingly complicated" She thought to herself flopping back down.

"There is no way I could like Gilbert Blythe...no way" she said softy to the cherry tree whom Anne was certain would always listen.

"no way"
