daniel turned his alarm clock off, his puffy eyes adjusting to the morning let shining through his window. the boy stands up and walks to his closet, throwing on a shirt and skinny jeans.

"honey, I really don't think daniel should go to school. it's monday, and it's only been five days since. why are you urging him to move on so fast?" his mother's voice ringed from the kitchen.

he rolled his eyes and stuffed his feet into a pair of shoes and walked downstairs where his two parents sat at the counter, arguing.

"good morning, sweetheart!" keri greeted her child, a fake smile placed on her lips. the boy frowned and walked to the back door, ignoring his father yelling his name, and walked out to his car, where he would have no music playing, because music reminded him of mia.

he stopped at a stop light, and glanced to his left, seeing mia standing there, a smile on her lips. Daniel's heart races, and he opens the car door, running to her. a car horn honks him into reality. where mia isn't standing there, and a yield sign is there.

"get out of the road, jackass!" an older lady yells, her fist in the air. daniel rushes back to the car and speeds off to the high school where his friends await.
