"daniel." christina shouts in a whisper to her boyfriend and friends. she stands up and immediately greets him in a big hug.
"how've you been?" she asks, pulling away. his eyes wander around. "fine." he mutters. the girl frowns and leads him to the table where his friends sit. "hey." zach whispers, placing his hand on Daniels shoulder. Daniel nods, and stares at the ground, where his mind thinks about the girl he loves, who's missing.
the friend group chatters away, everyone's mood gloomy. Daniel stares at the ground in pain. his eyes full of tears. "I'm going to the bathroom." he whispers, standing up and walking inside, his friends staring after him.
he entered the bathroom, and rinsed his face with cold water. mike harris and adam starlem unlock stall doors and walk out. adam nudges daniel's shoulder, and mike stares at him, a hint of sadness in his eyes.
he sighed and stared at his reflection in the mirror when a thought came to mind. the next thing he knew, he was getting in his car and driving to the johnson residence.
