Part 14

Tess came back home and was surprised to see her uncle waiting impatiently for her.

-Tess!You're okay.-Her mother was behind him looking rather disturbed, when Uncle Peter hugged Tess.-I heard what happened, but I was out of state at that moment, I'm just glad you're okay...-

-Thank Uncle Pete...-Tess said confused.She was never close with her uncle.

Although he was her father's brother he rarely visited them.Tess only remembers him coming to their house years ago dressed as Santa.Ava was a baby, so she cried when she saw him.

-Peter can I have a word with you please...-Her mother said, and left the room harshly.

Tess stood there not knowing what was going on.

She tried believing that Uncle Peter was truly here just because of what happened to her, but then she remembered how many times he didn't come, when she broke her arm, when Austin was sick for almost 3 months, when Ava fell downstairs, so it was really surprising he appeared now.

-What in the world is going on here?-Tess whispered to herself.

She was determined to find out.

Slowly she traced her mother and uncle, and listened quietly at their conversation...

-She is not your daughter!-Her mother hissed angrily

-Clair...-Uncle Peter said with a soothing sound but it didn't work.Her mother was still angry.

-I told you it was too risky!I told you not to come!-

-But Tess...-

-Tess is fine, we're all fine, but no one will be if they find out!-

-No one will find out...-

-I still can't risk everything, you should leave Peter...-Tess heard footsteps and quickly hid herself under the staircase.

Something was going on, and Tess wasn't going to let it go.

Alex walked faster and faster, but still he couldn't get rid of that guy.

He was following him everywhere.Whenever Alex looked back he saw the same hooded figure.

Even when he went to visit Kate and David.Lalya was reluctant to accept the money, but with the twin she needed all the help she could get.

Alex entered his office and looked behind him.

He shook his head, since the hooded figure wasn't behind him, for now.

He sat in front of the computer and started reading the newest case.

A few minutes later there was a car accident outside and Alex looked trough the window to see what happened.

As he was looking trough the window he a man standing near the accident with a hood.

Somehow Alex knew he was looking at his office so pulled the blinds.

---A few hours later---

-Uncle Peter...will join us tomorrow...we're going camping?-Ava asked happily.

Tess noticed how her mother shook her head but Uncle Peter ignored her.-I'd love join you...-

-I think dad will come with us...it'll be great...oh and mom can we invite friends too please, mom please!-Ava begged.

-Sure Ava, and maybe Tess can bring some of her friends too...-

-I was actually thinking about inviting Alex to join us...-

-Tess...-Her mother's look was frozen on the person behind her.

When Tess looked back, she saw her father standing there, red and angry.
