Love Takes Time

  Stevie POV

  After Lindsey and Scott left and the kids have been put to bed, Stevie and Robin are sitting on the back steps to the house smoking a Marlboro red and talking about the evening. Stevie says

  "I saw you slip Scott your phone number Robin, your going to do him aren't you?"

  Robin then dramatically takes being offended by saying

  "Are you saying I'm a slut Nicks?"

  "Was it my imagination or did you kiss two different guys in one day?"

  In return Stevie herself mocks indignation dramatically turning her head and saying

  "The first wasn't my fault, Mick just sprang it on me!"

  "The second was a just a small thank you kiss for helping me out."

  Robin burst out laughing as she says

  "Ha for all he did you should of done a lot more than that!"

  Stevie turns and faces Robin and looks at her in a puzzled fashion. She says

  "What do you mean Rob?"

  "I should of blown him for charging my battery?"

  Both of the gals are now rolling about the steps roaring in laughter. Robin composes herself a bit and says

  "What I was saying you little hussy was Lindsey did a lot more than what he told you."

  "They put a new battery in that crappy Lime-a-beast of yours and put all kinds of new parts on the engine."

  "Scott told me when we where hanging out, he mentioned it was still a piece of shit but not quite as bad."

  Stevie stops laughing a looks at her friend in a confused manner. She says

  "Why did they do that Rob, I don't even really know these people?"

  Robin takes a last drag out of her cigarette and then puts the butt out in the ashtray sitting between the two. She then replies

  "I don't think it's anything weird Steve's, I just think Lindsey likes you and he and Scott are just nice guys who thought you needed the help."

  Stevie puts her smoke out in the same fashion and responds

  "I guess I just never took it at face value they might not want anything in return."

  Robin then pokes her toe twords Stevie's leg and says

  "Who said they didn't want anything in return, I'm sure Lindsey would love some of that sugar and you being easy and all I'm suprised he isn't in your bed right now!"

  Stevie laughs while swatting Robin on the arm playfully. She responds

  "Who you calling easy?"

  "I'll bet your panties will be on the floor of Scott's truck long before I think about taking anyone to my bed!"

  Robin laughs then says

  "I'll bet you dishes for a week you've laid Lindsey before me and Scott
fool around!"

  Robin offers her hand and Stevie takes it and responds

  "Your on, I hate doing dishes and I know what a tramp you are Robs!"

  "This will be easy."

  Robin teasingly fakes kicking Stevie as the two arise to go back inside. Stevie opens the door and goes inside followed by her best friend. As they both head off to their bedrooms to retire for the night, Stevie turns and says to Robin
