"CHANGBIN!"
Said male turned around at the mention of his name and nearly fell over as Hyunjin practically tackled him in a hug. After he balanced himself, he hugged the overly excited boy back and waved to the others approaching him.
"Damn dude... Why does it feel like it's been forever since we've seen you?" Chan asked as he threw an arm around Changbin's shoulder. Changbin shrugged.
"I'm not sure... I mean I just saw you guys yesterday at school so..." By now, everyone in their little friend group, excluding Jeongin and Felix, had gathered at the picnic table Changbin had been sitting at. It was the weekend and the weather was nice so Changbin took advantage of that and had decided to spend the day outside.
Jisung planted himself right next to his best friend and threw and arm over his shoulder. "You excited?" Changbin raised a brow at the question. "For graduation I mean. It's only like two weeks away!" Changbin gave a half hearted laugh and shrugged his shoulders.
"I guess... I'm just not sure what I'm going to do afterwards." Changbin's voice was steady, but everyone knew the slight fear behind his words. Everyone there knew what Changbin wanted to do, but they also knew that his father would never allow him to do what he wanted.
"Hey," Minho said from across the table. "don't worry about that right now. In two weeks, we'll finally be free from this hell hole, so just think about that, no need to worry yourself about the future right now." To say Changbin wasn't surprised would be a lie because Minho wasn't known for his kindness, in fact, it was rare to see such a soft side of him since he would usually be complaining about something or teasing someone.
"Thanks.." Changbin muttered under his breath. Minho just gave a small smile in return and turned to talk with Woojin and Chan. Changbin rested his head in his hand and played with a leaf that had fallen onto the wooden table.
Jisung nudged him in the side with his elbow. "What's up?" Changbin didn't say anything and just continued playing with the leaf in front of him. "Bin, what's wrong? Stop being so glum and tell me what's up?"
Changbin sighed and rubbed his eyes with the heel of his hands. "Just my parents is all. They've been acting all weird since they got back from the States, especially my mom.." Changbin's trailed off. He hadn't told anyone about what his mom had told him during their phone call a few weeks ago. He knew that if he told any of his friends, especially Jisung, they'd all be too worried about him and wouldn't be enjoying their last couple of weeks together.
As much as Changbin hated to admit it, he didn't think that they'd all stay together after graduation. Chan and Jisung would pursue their music careers, Minho was already teaching dance classes on weekends and Changbin assumed he'd go to doing it full time after graduation. Woojin would probably go to school to be a vocal teacher, Hyunjin wanted to be an interior designer and Seungmin wanted to be a photographer. Their paths differed too much for Changbin to believe that they'd stay together.
As for himself, Changbin had this feeling that he wouldn't be able to stay with them regardless of what happened. He and Felix had talked about their future together and Felix had seemed optimistic, but Changbin didn't. He didn't show it, however, because he knew that if Felix knew how he felt, then he'd start to question Changbin, even though he didn't know for sure why he felt that way.
"Well, how about we all have a night out on the town? That'd be fun, wouldn't it?" Jisung asked Changbin, then the rest of the group. At first, Changbin stayed silent, but when everyone else agreed on going, he decided that it'd be a good idea.
Woojin clapped his hands together to get everyone's attention. "Alright, so where are we gonna go and who's gonna tell Felix and Jeongin?"
"I'll text Felix" Changbin said and pulled out his phone. He tuned the others out as they decided on a place to go and texted his boyfriend.
