My mouth opened and the first thing that came out was a scream. My heart probably stopped beating right in that moment. My eyes were probably bulging out of my skull and I probably could have peed my pants. I was busted.
A hand clamped over my mouth and I dropped the flashlight on the ground.
"Shut up, Beavis! You're gonna wake up Charlie." Hunter whispered. His voice didn't even sound tired. Does he not sleep?
I clawed his hand off of my mouth and threw it down furiously.
I glared at him through the dark with as much anger as I could. There was probably steam coming out of my ears and nose.
"You know," Hunter stepped closer to me so I could feel his warm bare skin on my knuckles I had clenched in front of me, "if you wanted me bad enough to sneak into my room in the middle if the night, you could've just walked through the door." With his close proximity, I could see the smirk on his face. I felt my cheeks burning with embarrassment while my mouth fell open.
"No! I... I just give me my dang bandana back," I muttered, turning my body away from him since he was only in boxers as I held my hand out, waiting for him to give me my bandana.
Hunter laughed at me and walked over to the corner of his room, probably to his bed. With a sigh, I took three big steps back over to the door and slid it open. Now there was moonlight pouring in through the glass and you could see the room better. Before I could step outside to head home, a hand wrapped around my wrist and pulled me back in.
"I was only kidding, Jasey. And.." He now had a t-shirt on and a pair of sweatpants that he grabbed my bandana out of. Great, he had it in the side of his pants...
"If you want this back, you have talk to me. And I mean actually talk to me." His face was serious as he talked to me. He dangled my bandana in front of my face and smirked. I took the chance and dove for it only to run straight into his chest. We tumbled to the ground with me on top of him, my hat falling off and my hair falling in my face. Hunter spit it out of his mouth and used his hand to move it from in front of my face.
My hands were flattened on the ground in attempt to keep my body off of his as much as possible. Even though he smelled good, even at midnight, I didn't want to be this close.
"I knew you wanted me." He smirked. I used my hand to slap him right across the face. It wasn't with much force since I had to keep myself up.
"Alright, alright. Sorry, I deserved that." He nodded his head and helped me get up off the floor.
"I'm serious about that talk. No talk, no bandana." He crossed his arms over his chest.
I bit my bottom lip. Did I need my bandana that bad?
"Okay. Only for a little bit, though." I said and crossed my arms, waiting for him to respond. A grin spread on his face from ear to ear and he held his pointer finger up.
"I'll be right back." He opened the door to his room and flipped the light on while he was leaving. Now being able to see, I dropped down on his bed and fell back on the blankets.
I pulled out my phone to check the time. It was 10:45 and already pitch black out. Dad can wait for about 15 minutes right? That's all the longer I plan on staying.
When the door opened up again, letting in cold air from the garage, I shivered and pulled my legs up on the bed. These leggings were not thick.
I was chattering. My whole body was shivering from no heat.
"Are you cold?" Hunter asked me. I looked up to scowl at him.
