The moment the sun went down, I was counting down the hours to escape this house and get to that party. I knew something would happen tonight, I could feel it in my gut.
I could hear my dad's snoring from his bedroom now. I knew that since he and Amanda were asleep, Reese would hopefully be too. Shimmying into a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of heels I had from the prom last year that Lilly forced me to go to. They were black also. I picked out a tan shirt to wear under a black button-up vest that stuck on my figure to wear along with that outfit. I figured that I wouldn't need a jacket since I'd be spending my time dancing. So, I grabbed the car keys off my stand. With my hair curled to perfection and my makeup on point, I unlocked my window and pushed it upwards.
Being as quiet as I possibly could I slipped out of the window and landed in the snow. My feet were instantly cold and I regretted wearing heels, but I also knew nothing else would as good with these jeans. So, here I was, doing something that I never would have done a few months ago.
I got in my car and started driving in the right direction. I knew where this boy since Kindergarten. Everyone knew where everyone lived, pretty much.
The whole driveway was crowded as well as the area across from his house. I finally found a space to park in and rushed inside. The place was so crowded that nobody saw me come inside. People were dancing against each other, making out, and even doing handstands over top of a keg. I was suddenly worried that this was too much for me. Maybe I was too innocent for this type of party. With worry flashing through my head, I swiftly turned around back towards the door and I came face to face with someone's red chest. Their red t-shirt, that is. When I looked up, I wanted to face palm.
"Jasey?" He questioned me. He looked genuinely surprised to see me standing here in front of him. I was alone, which made it even more surprising.
"Hi, Hunter." I replied sheepishly, feeling my face heat up.
"I didn't expect you to be here." He told me as he pulled me out of the way from a drunk person who was falling. The drunk girl fell flat on her back where I was standing. Instead of crying out in pain from a hard hit she started to giggled until another boy helped her up.
I stared at them with my eyes bugging out of my head.
"I wanted to..." I looked back up at Hunter now. "I wanted to come to this party. You know, like, high school experience?" I reasoned with him.
"Yeah, I get it. But didn't Reese tell you not to? And you're dad's home. How did you manage to pull this off?" He asked me seriously. I instantly grew a little angry. I placed my hands on my hips.
"For one thing, Reese isn't in charge of me. For another thing, what my dad doesn't know won't hurt him." I said with my eyes narrowed. I was about to walk away when something else came to mind.
"Oh, and another thing. How did I get out? I have wonderful ninja skills. You figure it out." With a wink, I left Hunter standing there and went to join the party. My adventure started with a red plastic cup full of beer. It would be the first time I could freely drink without getting in trouble. This was going to be one crazy night considering I don't know what I'm like when I'm drunk. If I even get that far.
It started with one cup. It quickly escalated to four cups. Now I'm on five and judging by how crazily I'm dancing, this cup was going to end up on the ground. I squeezed through the thick crowd of people and sat my cup down on a stand. I turned right around and went back to finding a place to dance. With my head dizzy and my eyes blurry, I still managed to find someone to dance with. It was like a while other side of me was coming out.
By the wall standing with one foot pressed against the wall, I saw Hunter staring at me intently. He was watching me like a hawk. At first I didn't mind it. But soon enough it got disturbing and I had to do something about it. I pushed the guy that was dancing with me off of me, earning me a death glare from him, and made my way over to Hunter. His eyes followed me the while entire time I walked closer and closer to him.
