Moving to a new town sucks. New York is such a great place for opportunities and education but unfortunately my dearest sister had to screw her record so much that we had to move to a smaller town just to be able to let her continue her studies. It would have been fine if she went there alone but she just had to drag me down with her antics.
We have just finished moving our things today and heaven knows how exhausting it was. Hailey plopped herself down on the sofa and opened her mouth as if to say something to me. I, however, am not in the mood to talk to her so I decided to open the telly just so I could block her conversation.
"Sadie Lancaster has disappeared six days ago and police were still stuck with one lead that suggests an intruder broke into her home that same night." The reporter said with fear clearly written in her eyes even if she is in the newscasting studio.
Great. We just moved in town and guess what? Someone has been murdered six days ago in this very town.
"We have here Grace Cooper, who is currently stationed outside of the office of the mayor, to see if any progress has been made. Grace, do we have an update?" The lady continued and then suddenly another person popped up from the screen and it seems like the other lady is standing on the grass field right outside the city hall. For a small town, the city hall does it's justice as one of it's main attractions. The hall itself was beautifully designed to look like a museum within a garden topped with global ceilings and probably furnished with old furnitures. For it's simplicity and elegance, I would say it tops Buckingham Palace when you put minimalism and nature in one sentence.
"They are still clueless about who would do such a crime and what were the motives behind it. But the mayor assured everyone that all will be resolved in time. They are doing everything that they can to resolve this issue as soon as possible so that they could be able to catch the culprit who did it. In fact, the office of the mayor is still bustling with people coming in and out of it even in this ungodly hour." Grace said with a neutral face but fear is evident in her eyes as anyone in her position would be because it is clearly dark outside and there is prolly a suspect on the loose. Even though it's a little ungraceful I snorted at her statement. Okay maybe it is more ungraceful than what prefer to admit but aside from my sister, who is currently burning my left side with her unending stare, no one else is in our small flat seeing as mom just went out to stock up our fridge. But then again, who am I kidding? I could sneeze and everyone in town would start to give me tissues and say their blessings to me. Maybe I am exaggerating the situation because even if they hear it, which I am sure that they wouldn't seeing as this town is small but not that small, they would not waste their time on me as I am a complete stranger and also they are too busy with this Sadie girl.
"Grace, I'm sure that the police, FBI, and even the mayor have their own leads. Have you heard of their own opinion?"
Grace, the reporter outside the police station shook her head, "Dela, they do have theories of what could have happened with Sadie and where she might be as of the moment but unfortunately they all lead to a dead end with almost no clues of what happened that night. It was as if Sadie knew her intruder that night because there was absolutely no signs of breaking in and nothing was actually stolen from her home." Well thanks for telling me that I should trust no one from this town seeing as there might be a psychotic person on the loose.
