The sun beamed down on us, giving us warmth. Kreed had brought me to a nice area in the woods, where the flowers bloomed and the grass was a vibrant green. He set out a blanket, and put the picnic basket on top of it. He knew me well. He hasn't talked much since we've arrived, but then again, I figure thats just who he is.
I set my glass of juice down onto the blanket, then layed down to look up into the sky. The sky is a beautiful blue with the clouds moving to block the sun. The movement besides me causes me to turn and see Kreed lying down beside me. I throw him a smile. His hand reaches for mine, clasping his large hand over my small one.
Kreed didnt have to speak, his silence spoke volumes to me.
Daydreaming is something I've always done. I did it alot in my old pack. The only difference is, in my old pack I dreamt of being free, and now I dream of living a happy life with my mate.
"I was born into a good pack," Kreed suddenly spoke. "I have two younger brothers, and nice parents." He's lying, a voice whispers to me.
I sat up, "Why did you leave?" I asked hesitantly
He mimicked my actions and sat up, "I didnt belong there. I am very different than the rest of my family. My family always took photos, I refused to be in them, my family enjoys power, I do not."
"Yet, you are Alpha of this pack"
He let's out a sigh, "I did not choose to be Alpha, I was chosen." He rubs his temples
I could tell the subject of his family bothered him. I've seen many lost souls in my life, Kreed was one of them. I wanted to ask more, but now was not the time to bug him for answers.
I grabbed my glass of juice, "Did you know that those blue flowers over there can be used to create a paste to stop bleeding" I point to the flowers to the side of us, changing the subject.
He slipped on a thankful smile, "no, I did not know that."
We went to lay down on the blanket again, as I began to tell him about all the plants surrounding us, and what type of medicine I could turn it into. We lied there for hours, enjoying the small breeze that hit us as the clouds completely covered the sun.
It was nice to see that Kreed was trying. I was neither against, nor for having a mate, but being in his presence makes me understand why the moon goddess gifted us with a soul mate.
I feel the small tingles shoot up my arm as Kreed's finger gingerly goes up and down my arm. His face is closer than it was a minute ago, I can see the small stubble growing on his chin, along with the white, faded scar that lies on his cheek. My hand reached for his face, wanting to feel the tickle of the stubble against my palm. His eyes pierce mine as our faces get closer. Next thing I know, all I see is white.
A bulky man who seems to be in his late 20s holds the hand of a small silver-haired boy. The man has black hair, he and the silver-haired boy walk over to a boy with matching black hair. The two boys run around, pushing each other and laughing.
"Alec, let's go" the black-haired man called
The boy with black hair runs to the man leaving behind the silver-haired boy. The boy left alone then goes running to the house, "Rider! Let's go play" the boy runs to the stairs.
White.
I blink my eyes a couple of times to clear my vision. Kreed sits in front of me holding my shoulders, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. It was just a vision" I explained
He stands up then offers me a hand, "Let's go, it's getting dark"
I grab his hand, then follow his lead on the way back to the pack house. As we walk through the woods back to the house all I can think about was the vision. The little silver-haired boy had to be Kreed, and the black-haired boy had to be his brother, Alec. I wasnt able to see his other brother, Rider. Goddess, I dont want to pry into his past, even if I have no control over it. I want Kreed to be the one to tell me everything, when he is ready.
The pack house comes to view as we emerge from the trees. I could really use a good hot bath right now. We make our way towards the door, but stop when we hear a commotion coming from the left of us. Kreed moves towards the commotion as I trail behind, wanting to see what was going on. As soon as we arrive to where the group of pack members were yelling, I wanted to go back to the house.
"Violet!"
For goddess fucking sake! I can't catch a break..
